Hi.

Just wonder if CX will "DELIBERATELY" block redemption seats

Have been searching for HKG/LHR sunday departure on CX255 or saturday departure on CX251 from Sept 2012 to Sept 2013, i could not even find an empty seat for such long period!

Is it true that these flights are only available for redemption by DM members only?

Back from AMS to HKG on Mondays, and seems like redemption seats availability is also very slim.

may i know which flight is it?
so actually even as a GO member, i shouldn't keep on waiting, right? CX won't give me seats anyway

can you help me check 8/6/2013 CX251, 9/6/2013 CX255 and 24/6/2013 CX270? thanks!

Peak redemption is bad on any class, esp economy class. Try calling MPC.

GO members access the same redemption inventory as other AM members. The only difference is that GO is placed at a higher priority on the waitlist.

One thing to keep in mind for redemption is to always be flexible in your itinerary. For example there should be availability on 8 June for HKG-LHR on BA, and while there is little or no availability around 24 June for most OW airlines, CX278 on 25 June is currently available (you'll need to work out the connecting leg also, of course).

but will AM/CX open seats for those flights which are supposed reserved for DM?
if not, i will try to waitlist on some other flights, rather than the never-exist-for-GO CX251 and CX255

feel very angry for that!

There's no special 'reserved' inventory for DM either, just that in the past, especially before the reservation system migration, CX cleared the waitlist quickly for them. This was done totally at their discretion and is NOT a published benefit.

hmm.. but i thought just now above mayodave said he could find the seats i want as he is a DM member?

i only want to try to fly from LCY only..

the only place that LCY connects a CX flight is either to AMS or FRA, i'm worried if i still cannot waitlist my flights from AMS to HKG in the meanwhile, i could not redeem the connecting leg later

But they won't release seats for normal AM members, right?

Nope...even GO has hard time getting waitlist cleared for redemption bookings.

then what are waitlisting for? if CX doesn't release any seats..
i have an economy class waitlist from europe to hong kong late june, so actually i'm just waiting for air, right?

4 daily flights from LHR to HKG, 1 daily flight from MXP/FCO/FRA/AMS, all flights are blocked

so disappointed!

Well...I'm not saying 0 chance...I did have it cleared in some very rare occasions.
