Letter to CX - update

Hi all,

Many members have constantly been in touch with me, offering me lots of support along the way. However, I know many of you have not been updated, and I wish to introduce my own Twitter feed.

Now, before certain members think that a Twitter feed for this is just too overboard and ridiculous, this is because 1) we do not want to clutter the CX board with more of these threads (they usually end up in arguments) and 2) the PM system on here is not ideal.

Follow me: https://twitter.com/CX_HK_FT

or @CX_HK_FT

You can tweet me your opinion or advice, and I will be posting questions and interacting with members. Hopefully, we can get this letter mailed off.

Thanks guys,
CX HK

Regarding your last tweet, the latest devaluations should be included.

I would actually suggest the contrary and keep the main objective of the mail clear and not clutter it with the recent devaluation of AM. I'm assuming the recent devaluation is dealing with redemption upgrades from Y to Y+, etc.

Good point, and yes.

So I had personally hand-wrote a letter to Mr. Slosar about this, and below is the reply I got back from Linda Sim.

Dear Mr Wang

Thank you for your letter addressed to our Chief Executive, Mr John Slosar, which has been brought to my attention.

I can fully appreciate your sentiments over Amex's offering of membership, and deeply regret any displeasure caused in this regard.
This is a business decision as part of our strategic partnership with Amex. While I am unable to discuss the details, I can assure you that Amex's offering is very targeted to selected Centurion cardholders and tier renewal of such complimentary membership is definitely not unconditioned. We will closely monitor the situation to ensure our Club benefits and privileges to our elite members will not be diluted.

Mr Wang, there is no doubt that we do value your loyalty. I sincerely hope that you will continue to support us and enjoy the many benefits of The Marco Polo Club.

Yours sincerely,

Linda Sim
Manager, The Marco Polo Club

Kind of what i had been saying all along.... "business decision". Period end of story. What a farce making this epic journey to complain about a few well positioned additional centurion holders "interfering" with your status, most of which was probably earned on some employer's or client's dime anyway.

Yea...I won't give up til you guys and gals do. And I signed up for my DM just out of spite, along with moving a few hundred thousand points to my newly arranged Asia miles account, hoping that on as many occasions as feasible I can "steal" that F seat from out under your nose!

Maybe I will even start flying CX J and snag a few opus to F for myself!

Oh and I hear the noodles in the Wing are delicious. Do they still have jacuzzi baths? Well, hopefully next time you'll be wanting for one, it might just be occupied, courtesy of Amex and CX DM benefit. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing - it looks like her tone has changed a bit... ;)

Anyway - do go ahead with the letter. We want our voice to be heard - that's an important step.

Mr Allvest, you are more than welcome to use the lounge as it's been crowded already and indeed the noodle is nice... but please, do not occupy the toilet all the time as well although I understand it's also your AMEX benefits to stay there... I hope you enjoy the lounge experience and appreciate your understanding.

Will try not to....

Thanks for seeing the humor in all of this.

Thanks - just a quick question, is there a group decision for writing or not? Because I am currently a GR, a post from me makes not much noise - but would gladly add 1 to the noise.

I don't twitter.

And really, what MORE advice do you need?

I still say a letter mailed off isnt going to gather much interest or attention. You really needs face to face meeting.

Thanks ernestnywang. Just another crap reply that still says we value these Amex customers just as much as our loyal MPO BIS passengers. :td:

I will be meeting with a CX country manager on Wednesday to hand in the letter personally.

Do let us know the reaction of the letter. If CX is willing to give DM away too easily, perhaps they can give us one tear's DM without qualification then. Just to even out!
