Hi Kleenlex,
I do understand this. Me too. If I qualify for dia, if next year I am not hitting 120000 there is no dia; but is it true that if I got 59000 I am bumped down to silver not gold as soft landing? |
the first time I achieved Gold I was about 9000 miles short. bizarre. I'm not a particular high revenue passenger either, but I do feedback on how each of my flight goes to CX in email. Last time I was approached by a purser?? (dressed in gold top), saying that I'm known to be a very friendly & nice passenger. She was very delighted to have me on-board. Well I criticize CX's seat all the time, but I do find CX service very pleasant most of the time. Maybe that makes a bit of differences??

I think it was about 2 or 3 years ago. Sorry I really am having trouble remembering it.

I never pay attention to these details but my wife was shy 543mi before becoming SL. MPC wouldn't upgrade her. Her next flight was CGK-HKG-YYZ. Technically she made SL right after the CGK-HKG leg. But her account now shows she is SL with 30,000mi to go to renew, while technically she should at least have 7800mi for the HKG-YYZ leg.
Is this something I can complain to get fixed or should I just rest my case?:( |
That sucks. I think CX probably can have a think about adopting BA's new approach. It's quite similar to DL's rollover miles. BA explains "You continue to earn Tier Points throughout your membership year (12 months from your date of joining) even after you move up a tier. So, for example, when you hit Bronze, you're already half way to Silver" (from BA.com).

So for those more experienced members, am I SOL or can MPC do something about it? I consistently fly on J revenue already three times this year YYZ-HKG-CGK-HKG-YYZ. |
I'm very experienced myself either, but I think you should probably try to reason with them. I'd try a few times too because each customer service offer is different. Given your flying history, they'd probably arrange something for your wife.

I have emailed MPC this morning and will let you FTers know of the results. Thank you.

Sorry, but that's just how CX works, for everyone.

I understand. But she made SL after the CGK-HKG sector. And flew the HKG-YYZ sector on SL. So miles flown in this sector should go towards her SL status, no?

"Thank you for contacting The Marco Polo Club Service Centre.
This is to explain that mileage of your flights from Jakarta to Hong Kong and Hong Kong to Toronto were credited to your account at the same date, therefore, all your previous Club miles and sectors have been reset to zero when your membership has been upgraded. We are sorry that we are unable to credit the Club credits of your flight CX826 to your current account as it has been credited to your previous membership year. 8 July 2012 CX826 Hong Kong - Toronto However, we would be grateful to record a remark in your profile about this flight. If you incur a shortfall in next renewal, the above flight would be taken into consideration. Please do contact us closer to your renewal date if this might happen and we will review your membership accordingly. Kind regards Ryan Wai Customer Relations Executive Membership Administration The Marco Polo Club Service Centre" See above the reply of MPC. Should I escalate or let it be? If I let it be, what is the likelihood I will be able to "charge" this in the next renewal or upgrade if I shortfall by this amount or less? |
