Stressful as I'm leaving on Thursday 2/16.

I guess you should just call CX Reservation in that case IMO

moa999 Feb 14, 2012 5:42 am

Agreed it seems to ask for the eticket number a lot for security purposes.
I mean come on I entered a six digit random number, my surname, the correct firstmidname sequence and you still want more.

Last few hours I have been unable to log on to manage my booking due to 'system error'. Anyone else had any problems?

Also is OLCI functioning normally since it was relaunched?

Impossible to get through, I just get a busy signal, have tried 6 times. That's why I asked if there was a dedicated first class phone number.

Is anyone just having trouble having their bookings show up when logging into their acct on cx.com? I haven't been able to see it on the "my account" page since the switch.

I don't think AS SABRE partition will ever receive Amadeus locator number. I would call CX to check what the Amadeus number is.

I can access it only about half of the time. If you get an error just log-off, wait for a while, and log-in again.

Just out of curiosity, are you able to download the QR E-TKTs on CX MMBs? Do they show the CX heading or something else?

Thank you very much!

Same here. I have been trying for 2 days and never once got through. I keep getting the busy signal.

Wish they could cross reference the ticketing carrier's ticket number.

beachfan Feb 15, 2012 1:37 am

Becuase my ticket was issued by AA on miles, and one segment is on Dragonair, that the e-ticket functionality between AA's system and Cathy's doesn't work; (i.e., it doesn't come back to AA from Cathay with a valid e-ticket number), I have to go to the AA desk to get a paper ticket.

Ran this through to this conclusion twice with two separate helpful agents. So now I head to the airport a couple of hours even earlie in case there is a major snafu and I need a while to sort it out.

I think I'm ok because I can see my flight as "confirmed" on Cathay's web site.

Hard copy of eticket essential

I flew HKG-PEK-HKG on KA yesterday. There was no record of me being booked on the flight when I tried to check in at the airport. Luckily I had my eticket with me and they located me and then reinstated the booking. However, by then someone else had been checked in and given my selected seat. The return leg, however, had no problems. I think I would have struggled without my eticket number though, so take it with you until things calm down.

i encountered a similar situation few months ago, it seems to be an occasional even due to CX system, although the system migration could bring up more and more similar events.

Is this necessary even if you have already done online check in with confirmed seat?

I see. I mistakenly thought that you had AM membership in which case a TKT no. is not needed to pull out the E-TKT.

fakecd Feb 15, 2012 5:13 pm

I think this update has gone quite terribly wrong behind the scene. I managed to got to an agent after being on hold for 50min... well so I give her the booking ref number, for 15min she said "pls wait booking is loading"... this is pretty bad.

if she takes 15min to load my booking (for simple change of date on award ticket) i can only imagine this will remain bad for a while.

Sorry - I should have added: On the online check in, it would let me check in for the return flight but not the HKG-PEK leg. Presumably for the same reason - that the reservation and the e-ticket has somehow become disconnected - hence my airport check in. The service counter (all three of them that were trying to fix my problem) confirmed that I was not the only person with the problem that morning and was because of the system upgrade.

cloudeleven Feb 15, 2012 6:49 pm

I need to book an award ticket on AA using my Asia Miles (they expire on Feb. 29). Would now be an OK time to try to book the ticket?

I am in fact worried about it because one of my trip in May no longer has the TKT info when viewed on CX's website. The agent assures me that the TKT is there and checkmytrip.com also has it, though.

Ok thanks for info, i just did an OLCI successfully, so I imagine im ok then for this flight as being checked-in, I am on the system.

The latest CX World has an interesting recap of this cutover:

hau cheng Feb 15, 2012 8:54 pm

I received an automatic SMS and email telling me one of my upgrade legs had been approved. This is good and I think seems new. However, I still can't access 'manage my bookings' nor load any itneraries.

Upgrade Only Half Done (Phase 1 of 2 Completed)

From CXWorld, it looks like there are more system upgrades to come in 2013.

Apparently, only the reservation/inventory systems were migrated to Amadeus last weekend.

The Departure Control System (DCS) for check-in / airport function still needs to be migrated to a new system and this will be done in mid-2013 (Phase 2 of the project).

I've had this happen to me about 4 years ago I think, but I think they had stopped it since then. Now it seems that this function is reinstated with PSS.

tylorcl Feb 16, 2012 1:58 am

I noticed on Asia miles website that says the new system can let the member change the date of the travel on-line. I tried but it did not work. Any new features found so far?

pdxasflyer Feb 16, 2012 9:18 am

CX World is laughable

I find it laughable reading CX World's account that the PSS switchover was a smashing success. Nothing could be further from the truth. With Asia Miles on constant busy signal, reps scrambling to assist passengers with new ticketing errors (some tickets haven't been migrated to the new system) and folks worldwide with partner award bookings that cannot be changed, this cannot remotely be called a success - or 'passed' - until everything is done and ops are back to normal.

A good dose of patience is what most customers/passengers are taking right now, but for CX to start patting themselves on the back is insulting and ridiculous.

Get back to work, CX, and there's no celebrating until this system is fully operational! You haven't 'PASSED' yet!

could not agree more. 50% of my tickets have half of them telling me they are going to be cancelled...whether that is true or not, is another thing but clearly there were issues in a lot of cases.

I spent 20 minute sitting in MPC office today to wait for my ticket to be changed
I can't call MPC at 12:28 HK time

I can't order my next Dragonair ticket with my usual American Express...

Ya, nothing falls off the sky, but nothing really working as well.

(I would have been sacked if it is my company .....)

Are you getting this error when trying to book an Award on the Asia Miles site, or a regular purchased fare booking?

Yep, my flight in March is now 773, but flight in April is 77G. Weird indeed.

no to mention their seat map is wrong sometimes too. I have a regional 330 flight. Row 13 used to be missing and now it appears on the seat map...so they managed to add an extra row in J. I wonder what will happen if someone picked those seats :p

JALPak Feb 16, 2012 6:21 pm

Now they have added another sentence to the warning

"If you have already issued your eTicket, please ignore the above message."

so their system can't tell

ernestnywang Feb 16, 2012 6:41 pm

According to Abacus, CX apparently is having trouble taking infant E-TKTs issued by travel agents.
