Newbie Question on upgrades
 

I wanted to pamper myself a little bit more so I upgraded my last sector to F from J. When I checked my bookings online, I found that my J booking was still there but I have another booking reference number for my F upgrade. Is that supposed to happen? I thought its just a matter of having your records tagged so you get upgraded upon check in.

Anyway how about mileage accruals? am I still entitled to my J accruals?

yep. you will receive the J miles.

Totally normal...whenever using miles to upgrade, both the paid and the miles segments will appear (should be J class and Z class for you).

For mileage accrual, you will accrue at the J class rate.

After the award is issued (miles deducted), the J booking should be cancelled. Do not cancel the J booking before the award is issued, though.

The F has been issued under Z class but I can still see J. Anyway at checking which one should I use?

Make sure you confirm your upgrade. After your upgrade is ticketed, the J booking should disappear. CX has a habit of processing it any time up to a few days before the flight. You can call them to ensure everything is OK.
