Definitley time for a bigger "Wing"

Arrive at the Wing, all the seats in the dining area are literally full. I feel like going back to my High School cafeteria. Of course people that put their bags next to them or on top of tables didn't help. I ask one person to move his stuff so I can sit and he gave me a "killer stare" but moved it anyway for me to sit.

Try to hit the showers next, full, had to get a lighting-pad and wait (wow, first time I got those not waiting on tables or food!) Took 20 minutes for my turn.

Then all the table seats are full. Most of the sections are full with 2-3 parties sitting there. The "bar" is almost full so I sat down there instead.

Never saw the Wing as full as this in my life. A sign CX is getting more elite pax?

(Sidenote: an idiot at the J line today tried to cut up front, the agent stopped him, and he talk in a very loud noise that he saw all the ticket holders are Y tickets and "they don't belong" in the J line. Agent tried to explain to him that MPC elite members can also use this line, but he kept waving the J-boarding pass in her face and say: "hello, J ticket, J line, J ticket, not Y but J, hello!" Finally the agent let him in by cutting. When I got up I asked her are pax like that often? She said no but some exists. I feel sorry for CX ground staff to have to deal with pax like him.)

I had one flight where a 'northern asian' couple had camped at the front of the line. Maybe on this occasion Y was boarding by row numbers, nothing and I mean nothing would move this couple from their 'rightful' place at the front of the queue. Lots of raised voices, in the end CX ground staff gave up.

It's why I go to the Pier if my flight is not at Gate 1-4. There are a lot of people under the illusion that the Wing is better even if their flight is at Gate 69. Fine with me, keeps the Pier less crowded.

Stay at the ground level of the Wing (beside the video game area), virtually no people on most times of the day. About the same selection as food above except for the noodle counter

CathayBoy, What time were you going into the Wing? The one time I had to fly monday morning to PVG, it was brutal even on the F side. Sometimes I find the night long haul rush to be a bit bad as well especially around school holidays but that seems to be only on the J side. But then again, where can CX really expend?

I thought there was only a video games down there and nothing. Granted I've been in the F side the last little while:D

Unlikely a DM - In HKG, sometimes when a CX gate agent sees a DM with a J BP, he/she will escort the DM to the front of the line anyway.

There had to be other J (or even F) passengers in the queue. If they spoke up when he waved his BP, he would make a fool out of himself.

I normally take my meal before regular meal times to avoid the crowd. However, I had to wait to dine once. The wait was rather short - just about 5 min.

Yes, CX can expand. They need a bigger lounge. I walk through the Wing J side to Gates 2-4 often (and I also use the J side when I fly non-OW airlines). J side is often crowded.

Had the pleasure of doing that to someone once. Long line for the left hand side boarding queue. As I was about to reach the boarding attendants, a guy walks straight up to the front of the line past the ~30 of us who had waited in the queue looks at me, holds up his boarding pass and just says "Business Class." I help up my boarding pass and said, "First Class, but after you sir. We all insist." The gate attendants got a kick out of it.

Attendants will always offer to escort F to the front of the line. Flying in J I find the offer is hit and miss. I never take them up on the offer though. I can wait the extra 4 minutes to get on board rather than single myself out as 'more important.' I do find it irritating that CX decided to open priority boarding to MPC Green as the line always looks so long, but it really doesn't take that long once they get it moving.

re finding extra space, the old smoking rooms in both lounges remain unused (as far as I know), almost two years since they were closed. Could open them up for additional space in J (at the Wing) and for J or F (at the Pier).
