For red-eyes the day before your birthday, but the flight goes through your birthday, does it count?

Family of 3 got upgraded on the CDG flight to PEY. If its a birthday upgrade, it will only be you, and only if you have CX MPC elite status. BA Bronze won't cut it. |

My recent experience on a KA flight:
Flew on my exact birthday. Booked in J so was not expecting an upgrade at all, but getting a paper birthday card (which you don't often see nowadays) would be nice. It turned out that there was no recgonition at all from check in and throughout the flight. After landing I asked the ISM whether they still do birthday cards for MPO members. She said yes and there could even be an upgrade. Then I (shamelessly) replied “Today's my birthday.” She looked genuinely surprised and then scrambled to grab one from the compartment and rushed to get the crew at the front galley to sign it before disembarking. Oh well. Made it one of the memorable birthday experience for me. Not sure what went wrong here. |

I wonder where DOB is stored on your MPO/AM profile. Whenever I make a booking on the CX website, it auto fills all the details except my DOB. Is this even a stored field in their DB?

I wish I would be a MPO elite member.
I will fly CX on my bday, but I'm just OW emerald :( |

I am very certain it is. Birthday cannot be changed and therefore needs not be displayed. Name can be changed but not by the member, and is displayed as non-editable.

The check-in agent fixed that immediately but my luggage was already sent, and my bag came out with the non-priority bags. There was another time I noticed when she didn't tag first priority. She told me the system didn't show my membership (and she didn't ask even though I was checking in at an F counter ). Since then I made a habit of presenting my card or asking if they had my membership number at checkin. Have you checked if your AM# is on your BP? |
Just checked. It has my correct MPO number but interestingly it showed as AM not the usual GO/SAPPHIRE. My status hasn't changed for years.
Maybe that's why. |
