Consider the following when choosing luggage
 

Most, or actually all, the airlines allow 19' luggage as carry ons.

I would recommend considering the following features when looking for any kind of luggage:

1) It is light
2) Good quality and brand
3) Has 4 wheel mobility (a new thing and makes travelling so much easier) ^
4) Has a good warranty (very useful in some cases but can cost a little as a premium).

Usually Samsonite, Heys, Delsey, American Tourister and Ricardo has some great carry ons and luggage models.
