YVR to US Check-in Time
It has been a few years since I last traveled from YVR to US. Last time I got struck in a huge line with returning cruise ship passenagers. I am leaving Mon at noon YVR-MSP-BOS on Delta. How much time do I need to allow for check in/immigration & custom/security? Delta website offers no information at all. Thanks

The only information I could find on the Delta website is:

Obviously it depends on the time of day/day of the week/season you are flying (Monday afternoon should be ok, Monday morning/weekends are lkkely much worse), but generally Id recommend to check-in at least 2h before departure as a non-Elite and at least 90min before departure as an Elite member (assuming youd get priority check-in and priority security).
Generally I find YVR is a very nice airport, but it can get busy at times.

I'd give yourself at least 90 minutes with bags. I took the same flight to MSP (on a Tuesday morning in early June). With carryon bags, web checkin w. preprinted BPs and Nexus, it took me 30 seconds to get through immigration, with customs and security not more than 5 minutes. The regular immigration line was about 10 minutes. I had over an hour before the flight boarded (which was delayed due to a thunderstorm over MSP.

My standard operating procedure is -
- 90-120 minutes on weekday flights before noon
- 90 minutes on weekday flights after noon
- 150 minutes on weekend flights before noon due to the throngs of Kettles coming off Cruise ships

US CBP at YVR was a disaster...
I only traveled to the US from YVR one time, and I will never do it again.. The non-Americans line was horrendous, and there were only 5 agents processing passengers. Ridiculous.
I am considering NEXUS, though I don't know if the cost is worth it.. Usually I fly from YYZ early in the morning, and the lines at 4:30 AM are very quick, and truthfully, I found the CBP to be easy to deal with

Datapoint
My sister had a Friday 9am flight.
No status on AS, had to check bags, could not web checkin. Was there at around 7am and took her an hour from then to get airside.
