Have you asked your companion where they would like to go?

that's why agencies exist. It isn't even that bad anyway. I'm awaiting my 9th visa and never had an issue.

how does the agency take your fingers to the Russian embassy for the required biometrics these days?

The Russia tourist office in Notting hill has their own finger print machine now, which is (presumably) linked to the embassy/visa centre system.

Sure, I was just wondering how using an agency helps with that. I have used agencies in the past but the move by Russia and now Chine to visa systems requiring biometrics seems to move me more to doing it myself - if I have to turn up in person it seems the agency is no longer adding as much value and I may as well do it myself. anyway it’s probably a discussion for another thread.

I think it is just worth bearing in mind when looking at a trip using a companion voucher Russia requires a visa which adds cost and hassle - something which has personally put me off visiting.

The main value for me was getting the invitation letter (for my business visa) quickly and without having to trouble our customers out there to get all the bits and pieces required for the application together on my behalf.

I went twice before Christmas on separate tourist visa's, which I did myself at the Barbican Russia Visa centre and it would certainly have been a waste of money paying an agency to do these, as it was simple, just £186 a pop.

Agreed discussion for another thread.

My wife and I find ourselves in a similar position with 3 vouchers to spend but, starting from a regional airport, so many of the attractive places suitable for a short break require the LHR/LGW switch and therefore for us represent poor use of them. Am I also right in thinking that they can't be used on CityFlyer services?

With loads of destinations from both airports, where do you arrive in LON?

LGW has the whole Caribbean, plus NYC and loads of Yerp destinations.
LHR has the rest of The World!!

No longer any service from MAN to LGW so I find it hard to justify using BA at all for breaks to any short haul destinations with only a LGW service let alone using an otherwise valuable voucher when I can jump on a LCC direct flight to so many attractive places for a few days. Long haul is a slightly different matter but even then I have come to dread the LGW-LHR switch especially on the way home. As a result we have frequently failed to derive full value from the many vouchers we've accrued over the years.

My listed location is a touch of self indulgence relating to my football team. MAN is actually my home airport for most destinations and I would dearly love to see BA introduce some direct services where we could derive some real value from the vouchers although I recognise that's very unlikely. Quite honestly, I collect them because I figure than if I'm going to have a miles earning card I might as well have the vouchers as well.

Madrid taking advantage of the BA460 and BA461 for the 777 - and fingers crossed for FLUB (it happens) ... or Mykonos (JMK) is a good call for a LHR shorthaul Plus that will likely be valued at least £600 return per ticket.. so a good return at £100 for two in CLub and a lovely island to boot! Best bit is FIRST WING - FLOUNGE and transfer to hotel likely not much more than 15 minutes at the other end. t he other good value redemption (again - you can now do LHR) is to RAK for some sunshine!
Enjoy spending your 2 for 1s!
