You may eventually discover that, as the years add up, that you find the discomfort of Economy unacceptable! Elders should fly in Business, for comfort and convenience, and as my wife says, “What were all those years of work for, if not this?”

I joined the BAEC in 1997. Currently on 11505 points, 7800 of which have been earned in the last two years. It shows how a change of job or change of role can change many things! On track for GGL/CCR this year for the first time; two years ago I'd never got above blue.

If I keep going at the same rate I have been then I am looking at another six years to get there, so that would make 20 in total. Retirement is a lot further beyond that, unfortunately.

Despite having flown BA quite a lot before and since its formtion I was unable to join the BAEC as only certain class of Y fares qualified for entry to the Club. So all my flights on BA earned me nothing until the early part of this century....around 2006 I think. It was around then they allowed anyone to join....even Tesco shoppers who had never flown BA.

So, thanks in no small part to lots of you on this forum, and after approx 19 years as a BAEC member, I have sneaked over the 35k lifetime tier points, ironically on the longest single flight I have ever taken - 22 hours on the same plane without disembarking
Nothing different on my home page other than the TPs total, and actually it doesn't feel as good as I'd hoped, because I will always want to keep GGL They keep you hooked, don't they?!
Edit... small change now on the home page. Hardly a fanfare though!!

I will be reaching the 30K TPs mark by the end of 2020 I recon - my membership started in 2012 (although only accruing 1,500 TPs for the first couple of years)
I'm 37 years old :-)

275 lifetime tier points for me Been with BAEC 2.5 ish years.
thankful for amex cards otherwise I wouldn’t get anywhere long-haul! I hope to do a TP run one day when I get round to it, just to experience status for a year.
