What's the priority here? How special is the special ring? As you can probably see from the answers already, trying to earn a shedload of TPs in the very limited time that you have injects a lot of risk into your travel plans. What if something goes wrong, you earn all your planned TPs from ORC, but you have no ring in your pocket? How will you get to PHL in that situation? Will it even matter by then?

How about this one?
4 F sectors coming in at 160 tier points
I even got the origin/destination right this time!
And sufficient transit time in PHL on the way back to pick up said ring

Now you've really confused me. This shows three flights from PIT-CLT-MYR-PIT. The OP needs to get to PHL.

The ring and lady in question are very special.

As is the trip I am planning later in the year.

Would be handy to be gold for that!

It's efficient for timing. It's not very efficient for TPs. At that price I'd go Economy and find another opportunity to get the TPs. Even UK domestic can get 100 TPs for about £250.

How about a reputable courier (+insurance) to get the ring to you in PIT then swan around for a day with the 4 sector options above (or even Mrytle Beach) without worrying about IRROPS?

A very good shout.

I do know the lady in question would love the fact I actually went to pick it up though, when she finds out! Brownie points are always good!

Adds to the story of life!

I'd say save the money, fly Y, and spend it on the special trip.

At least the itinerary looks 'safe' and you won't end up with a wasted trip where you end up not being able to pick up the ring.

In that case forget about Silver, save the money and use it to upgrade the trip where you would use the Silver status. You can get a PIT-PHL return on AA for $200 that day, fitting your time constraints. You are talking about spending $ 700 extra just to maintain Silver, I struggle to find a set of circumstances where this would be worth it.
