There was somebody on here (not a Prem, maybe a GGL) that reckoned they'd hold a flight for him at JFK. So, he knew that if his "meeting" ran over a bit, he could just phone and ensure he got on the flight.

It went down really well when he mentioned this, as you can expect

I can't recall who it was, but it was a regular poster rather than a one-post-wonder.

Last I checked no MP has declared BA status as a perk.

Loads of comped flights (paid by other people tho!)

As well as the soft perks, a nice Black Premier Luggage Tag to display as well as having BA PREM on your BP as keepsakes?

I suspect Premiers don't view bag tags in the same important light as Flyertalkers.
Once sat next to a business suit wearing chap in the CCR dining area who had a Premier tag on his bag. He was on the phone enthusiastically chatting about steam trains.

Your neighbour also gave the world Kylie Minogue. Well, the singing version, that is.

I suspect that too.

I discreetly display my card but it's tucked into a side mesh pocket on my rucksack and not really visible unless you had your eyeballs right next to it. I do that more for if I left it or lost it they could trace me but It's also my onboard 'footstool' in economy or even WTP so I haven't forgotten it yet as it's too important in that respect!

I did have to get it out once as an AA Flagship check in entry point as the lady there didn't seem to understand/recognise OW Emerald but her colleague quickly noticed the green oval symbol which is of course the same as the BA Premier Card but the latter having much more significant differences in benefits as commented above.

Suspect his surname suggests a life on the sea.

If I had one I'd flash it.

My first thought was also water related, but more as an alternative to a harbour. Definitely did not introduce us to Kylie, but maybe Dianne...

Apologies for being OT but Pete Waterman was who I was referring to.

Just to amplify what Filthy said, if you make a BA booking via the Premier channels, and it has non BA sectors on it, then there will be notes on the booking about being a BA VIP, and also they will pass the information on to the other airline via any liaison process they have. This works best on BA + AA and BA + IB bookings so their teams will typically meet the Prem on arrival and guide them through, but it also happens with Qantas, Qatar, JAL and Cathay. From what I can make out, there isn't a lot of this going on, Prems are typically going direct on the whole, and some Prems make it known they don't want to be "mothered". There can be some strange outcomes if there is a non oneworld airline on the booking, such as Air Corsica. I heard of one (unsubstantiated) case on something like Bastia to Orly where a senior manager accompanied Lord Mandelson (since de-frocked as a Prem) the whole way from hotel reception to hotel reception, but I suspect there wasn't a lot going on at the time.

If you make a direct booking on say Qantas then you risk then you're just an Emerald. AA seem to have a system to pick it up but it's the usual BA VIP haziness and it's not consistently in place (and isn't consistent for AA Concierge Key either).
thank you CWS. I’ll go through the reg channels to make sure all is in sync once my better half decides on the full itinerary. I appreciate the guidance.
