BA 100 - 100 seats for £100 each-way [promotion period 21-24 January 2019]

"To get our centenary year under way, we’re offering you the chance to book a flight from just £100 each-way, as part of a return trip.

Two exciting destinations in the USA and beyond will be on offer at 12 midday every day from 21-24 January.

It’s first-come, first-served. We have limited availability of seats for each destination, so act fast."

Raffles Jan 21, 2019 4:31 am

Press release says US, Africa and South America covered so this may be a better deal than it first appears (since £200ish tickets to the US are the norm at this time of year).

British Airways turns 100 this year and to get its special centenary year underway, as part of its January Sale the airline is offering customers the chance to book a flight from just £100 each-way* to some of its most popular long-haul destinations.

The offer will run on Monday January 21, through to Thursday January 24, with two different destinations up for grabs each day at 12:00pm. Customers logging on to ba.com at midday will be able to buy tickets to destinations such as the USA, Africa and South America.

Customers will need to act fast to secure the ultra-low fares, but the savings don’t stop there as British Airways’ World Sale is also live with over 100 destinations on offer. The flight and holidays sale, which ends at 11.59pm on January 31, 2019, includes new routes to Charleston, Pittsburgh, Durban and Osaka as well as popular destinations including Las Vegas and Cancun.

With two-night city breaks starting from just £99 per person, European beach holidays starting from £179 per person and Caribbean holidays from £499 per person, there are huge discounts to be found on thousands of flights, holidays and fly drive packages.

New York, the most searched destination on ba.com in 2018, is on sale for £266 return. As part of British Airway’s partnership with American Airlines, great fares are also available on many US routes. Together, American Airlines and British Airways offer up to 70 flights a day from London to the U.S.

British Airways is investing £6.5 billion pounds for its customers over the next five years. This includes the installation of the best quality WiFi and power in every seat, fitting 128 long-haul aircraft with new interiors and taking delivery of 72 new aircraft. The airline will also be introducing new Club World seat with direct aisle access later this year.

Full details of the offer can be found here.

· *Each way as part of a return journey; so £200 return inclusive of all taxes, fees and charges and baggage. For travel dates check ba.com/100-flights each day. For ‘How to Book’ please check ba.com/100-flights each day.

I assume it's World Traveller only... but it doesn't seem to specify. There's some mention of Holidays in CW in the T&Cs on the about page, but then some of the dates in those T&Cs are from last year [edit: it's because they're still promoing the Sale to 31st Jan, which is a separate thing].

Seems to be 2x destinations per day for three days.

saint_em Jan 21, 2019 4:54 am

Thanks for the info - I don't know about anyone else but I haven't seen an email about this so would have otherwise been oblivious.

As someone fortunate to a) be able to take time off pretty easily and b) not mind traveling down the back, I'll keep an interested eye on this. Sadly I'm also in possession of fat fingers so the chances of me grabbing seats are unlikely!

ThatT1Feeling Jan 21, 2019 4:56 am

No promo email for me - although Mrs TT1F did get an email which she has forwarded to me. Unfortunately I am flat out all week from tomorrow so 12 noon today will be my only chance!

Edit... cue ba.com grinding to a halt :D

And so it came to pass.

KARFA Jan 21, 2019 5:06 am

Today it is NYC and CPT . Travel period allowed is quite restricted, depart from 25 February onwards and return no later than 29 March.

mmxbreaks Jan 21, 2019 5:06 am

Was able to bring some up. But I don't want to fly to those destinations in those time-frames. Will be checking in tomorrow and Wednesday though...

BA.com is dead :( RIP

FrogTastic Jan 21, 2019 5:10 am

Possible to upgrade with avios?

mikeyfly Jan 21, 2019 5:10 am

Absolute shambles of a website - truly horrific. Got to see the £100s once, failed to work from then onwards

Duck1981 Jan 21, 2019 5:13 am

too much for ba.com I am afraid :))

Looks like it booked into M with a fare basis of 50p each way! :D So yes....

It's just economy. Says 'discounted' next to it.

I suspect it'll be lowest fare bucket and therefore not upgradable [edit, above suggests it's M class, thus should be upgradable].

george77300 Jan 21, 2019 5:14 am

They are still there for CPT at least (12:14) on some days. Website is well and truly broken though so seems no one can book...

mikeyfly Jan 21, 2019 5:15 am

Good grief - what a poor show - thank god they didn't email their database too.

lcylocal Jan 21, 2019 5:15 am

CPT seems to booking into booking class M so 80 TPs and at least 6000 Avios for £200. Interestingly this is also a Plus not Basic fare (not sure if Basic fares have launched yet to South Africa).

peck Jan 21, 2019 5:19 am

“There’s a problem with our systems...”

understatement of the year!

Just wait until tomorrow... :-D

Deltus Jan 21, 2019 5:24 am

I got as far as the payment page for a CPT return for £200, out Friday night back overnight Sunday to Monday, and earning 12,000 avios back. Unfortunately can't be sure about my other travel plans and have no need to go to South Africa, but I was very tempted to press book!

Duck1981 Jan 21, 2019 5:28 am

booked 2 tickets for my wife and back just now

200 GBP for the weekend is just acceptable :)

Fontana Jan 21, 2019 5:28 am

Use Avios to get £40 off! Down to £160. BA Website is very slow & its going to get hammered for the next few days.

Lewis King Jan 21, 2019 5:54 am

grrr I was on final payment stage, AMEX approved/etc.... and then "sold out" whilst I was booking. ........!

mikeyfly Jan 21, 2019 5:56 am

Such a shame - really wanted a taster trip to CPT - with both night flights would've got a full weekend for £200 flights. Oh well... let's see what tomorrow has to offer :)

george77300 Jan 21, 2019 6:03 am

Started at 12. Finally ended at 12:45. A quick trip to CPT would've been good. But thanks to the website not functioning couldn't get through. Eventually got the flights but then crashed when I got to payment! :(

Can't do tomorrow but hopefully Wed/Thurs have something interesting and not just effectively 20% off NY flights...

It only mentions USA, Africa and South America so no doubt one to SA would be cool but the other 6 no doubt to Northeastern USA.

katbraz Jan 21, 2019 6:12 am

It does mention Japan in the T&Cs:

b. Travel in World Traveller and World Traveller Plus from London Heathrow to Austin, Nashville, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Seychelles, Muscat, Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), Osaka, Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Sydney, Nassau, Grand Cayman, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Santiago is available for selected outbound travel dates between 15 January 2019 and 13 December 2019.

£200 rtn to Japan would be pretty cool.

That’s relating to the general sale ongoing at present not the centenary flash sales unfortunately.

doh! thanks for heads up.

corporate-wage-slave Jan 21, 2019 6:32 am

This is the sort of bargain I love, even if it is somewhere down the back. However when you are on BA flights at 12 noon for two maybe three days running - and no shorthaul wifi in the air of course - well, it is just sooooooooo unfair! It's almost as bad as booking for Glastonbury.

Oh well, maybe I can ask the captain to trundle extra slowly down to the runway tomorrow, just for me.

Is Duck1981 our own successful booking collectively?

You could've been on super fast fibre in your office and still had no luck ! Considering how there was no advance marketing on this I am surprised the website failed miserably

Just how surprised are you, in truth ?

BA website experiencing problems” does not exactly make for shock-horror-headline-news.
