Have you already checked the post "Earning Avios and Tier Points on flights" in the "Your guide to the Executive Club, attaining status and earning Avios 2018 edition" thread?

With the original itinerary that @bisonrav posted, I make that out to be (for me at Gold) 28,503 Avios and 640TP.
Not too shabby for a weekend! :D |
I'm still considering jumping on this fare - I recall reading somewhere that it has to be ticketed by tomorrow, 31st December?
However, I'm struggling to persuade Google Flights to allow a route back from the US via LHR and HEL (rather than simply, e.g., BOS-LHR-ARN). I've routed, for example, ARN-HEL-LHR // LCY-JFK // JFK-DCA-MIA // MIA-LGA-BOS // BOS-LHR-ARN. But you can't have more than 5 'flights' on Google multi city. I see it can be done via Matrix, as above, so will try that next - but Google is quite handy for seeing things at a glance and trying different options. Edit: trying to get this up on Matrix for the first weekend in August, but coming in at approx £3600 (or even more). |

I have tried to order a trip now to MIA from GOT. I started a bit before midnight on the 30/12 and now suddenly the prices went up a lot. I have checked the ticketing rules and they say:
Category 15: Sales restrictions TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 31DEC 18. Doesn't that mean that the prices are valid to and inclusive of 31/12? Or does it mean that they are not valid on the 31/12? For me ON should also include the 31? |
I’m still able to price up ARN-MIA which indicates offer ends at midnight tonight, presumably at the departure airport time, so midnight ARN, 11pm UK. Don’t know if routing through HEL impacts that as that’s UK+2 so to be safe I’d plan to complete booking by 10pm UK time. You may find ‘I’ class on one of your sectors has sold out, resulting in a higher fare. |

I can price it on Matrix. See below:

Ahh. I had the legs slightly differently (e.g. LCY-JFK rather than LCY-MCO via JFK). Thank you @Wozza2404 - your two posts are incredibly helpful for getting this to price up right.

There's going to be more FT'ers than normal passengers on the babybus at this rate. :)
Not that it's a bad thing, of course. |
First TP run (ish)
Sneaking in at the last few
It's not quite a true TP run as I'm turning it into a short break elsewhere in the US, and it also ticks a few items on my bucket list: the Babybus, and hopefully an upper deck seat on the 747 on the way back. There are actually a nice selection of 8 aircraft types on this trip! Particular thanks to @Wozza2404 for their help with Matrix, @bisonrav for the hint on the US address upthread, and the many others who flagged up this fare. My flights are as follows, and I'll update the Wiki shortly. 1st August 12:55 AY808 ARN-HEL (NoRRA, E90) 16:00 AY1337 HEL-LHR (Finnair, A330) 2 August 12:40 BA1 LCY-JFK (BA, A318) 21:45 AA4454 JFK-DCA (Republic/American Eagle E75) 3 August 12:00 AA1048 DCA-MIA (AA, 737-800) 8 August 11:15 AA1340 MIA-DCA (AA, 737-800) 14:55 BA5158 DCA-JFK (Republic/American Eagle E75) 18:30 BA112 JFK-LHR (BA, 747-400) 9 August 10:20 BA6032 LHR-HEL (AY, A350) 16:00 BA6043 HEL-ARN (AY, A321) |

An oddity: I've managed to retrieve by BA booking code via Qantas, but logging into BA MMB with this only shows the outbound flights to MIA. There's no flights showing for the return journey, which means I've not (yet) selected an Upper Deck seat on the way back. Any suggestions on how to make these magically appear in MMB? |
