Suggestions for a cheeky Brexit break?
Hi all,
Since B-Day is a Friday, thinking of a weekend away (leaving on the Thursday).
Will have top-class insurance and wouldn't mind if the airspace closes due to EASA hassles and leaves me stranded!
Wouldn't take a risk with the lo-cos, but happy to be away with BA Holidays.
So, where would you go for a weekend (from Scotland) that might turn into an "ash-cloud" long break?

I was going to suggest Bermuda, but despite it being the home to Bermuda II Agreement, it turns out there is a bilateral in place for LGW-BDA. In the absence of that, anywhere in the USA or Canada will do.
Note that it took a few days under one year to negotiate Bermuda II, so take plenty of underwear. It's probably forgotten now but at the end of June 1977, all transatlantic flights came within hours of being cancelled, until the two parties at beyond-the-last-moment compromised and initialed the deal. This then allowed the previous agreement to continue until the formal signing took place on 23 July 1977. Bermuda II then was superseded by effectively the current agreement between the European Union and the United States in 2008.

I'm currently contemplating flying to the US the day after Brexit!
