I certainly wouldn't bother changing hotels to stay near the airport. The train is simplicity itself direct from Museum station and arrives inside the terminal. If you have a lot of luggage then a cab will not take very long although traffic can snarl up if there's an incident near the airport so the train is usually the best bet.

Thanks for the advice! Staying at the Hilton seems a no-brainer then.

Sorry to bring this up again, but trip imminent.

Just wanted to check - I'm currently planning to travel HBO and hop off the SIN-LHR and stay home on the return leg rather than completing the LHR-OSL and finding my way back (I live in London). It's booked direct, not via a TA who this might get into trouble etc.

It's my first and likely to be only (for a while) time of doing this. Given recent publicity about other airlines penalising 'hidden city' fares, is there any increased risk now (rather than initial discussion back in Sept/Oct) of BA getting upset and demanding excess fare, cancelling TP benefits, etc., or is what I'm doing still reasonably standard practice? Part of the reason for the route is to get back to Silver so if they're likely to get the hump and not honour the TPs for some reason then I'd consider completing the final leg, but it would be quite disruptive as not initially planned for that in terms of dates (working next day).

I don't think there are actual risks if done once or twice.
However, I would take the last leg anyway unless there were very big/important reasons to not do that. But that is me.
