Advertised as coffee table, I presume the naming of this odd furniture piece would certainly be the privilige of whoever wins the auction

I imagine the postage and packing would sting a little on this item.

I am seriously tempted, I would be curious to know the history.

From the link to the auction house, they have thought of that, price offered:

Transport to London from EUR 302.42 with JH Transport ApS

My stepfather's uncle flew Phantoms when in the RAF. This could be a great gift for his 75th birthday. Thanks to OP for sharing.

Haha yes it does. I think sometimes we can get caught up in the romanticism of jet travel.

Lady in the Skies: re the idea of a present. This is a silencer (and it had very little effect!) fiftted to civil airliner Speys and not to military ones so I'd suggest it's of very little relevance to a Phantom pilot.

Silencer on a Spey? Another oxymoron like Military Intelligence then

Thanks ^

Knowing very little of fighter planes, I was swept away by other poster claiming memories from "all those Phantoms". If not related, I'll still introduce the idea to my family and let them decide.

Still surprised at the amount of knowledge displayed by many posters in this forum :-:
