British Airways to move to Northern Ireland

For those of you who don’t read the Belfast Telegraph there’s a story in it today that BA is going to move to Northern Ireland. Apparently Willie wants to take advantage of NI remaining in the single market while remaining EU owned. It’s intriguing, but puts a lot of pressure on the PM to do a deal with the EU.

At least it should mean a decent frequency of Belfast-London BA flights for years to come

No date for move given, but it’s codenamed Project Amadan (FT doesn’t do Irish fadas)

maybe it’ll be announced at the same time as the BAEC enhancements

next year - joint sovereignty deal between
U.K. and Spain over Gibraltar with BA to move there. Will give me time to mock up a news report... (admittedly might be more politically contentious)

Still more believable than the thread about actually wanting to know the score of a Stoke City match.

Given they have a decent lounge and (possibly) exclusive use of the one jet bridge at BHD, I can think of worse options... and at least there were always a couple of clarets there to drink...
