This thread concerns a period on 6 August 2015 when for at least 6 hours, starting a 07:30 GMT, BA, AA and AY offered Business class flights from 3 Norwegian airports - Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen - to the USA. By cheap we mean below £400 for OSL-LHR-USA in business class return, plus additional flights in First thereafter. Bragging rights go to crazy8534, original post here. Around lunchtime these fares were pulled, but by that time a number of FTers had leapt in and got themselves booked and ticketed. Some also upgraded existing bookings or UuA'd to First.

BA have now confirmed directly to many FTers via email that their bookings will be honoured (Screenshot of email courtesy AAtticus). We await confirmation from those booked on AA.com and those with multiple bookings.

Back to back information for OSL, BGO and SVG is to be found here, and also there is a photo guide here for OSL kindly posted by wjh5879.

Specifics on the fare basis and rules here.

Guide to OSL hotels here (kindly provided by krist1an)
Guide to eating out in Oslo here and also here without needing a wheelbarrow of money (also kindly provided by krist1an). Two microbreweries are identified here by Berksflyer.

The BA Viking meet-up thread (aka. ex Norway CW mistake fare)

Well this starts off with a brag (please indulge me, I don't get many at home or work these days ) but a certain flyertalker kicked-off a bit of excitement on an otherwise boring Thursday in August http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/25228799-post477.html Some lucky people have ended up with a return booking to the USA for £342 in CW. I sprinkled some avios as well and bought 2 seats for thereabouts.

I thought this might be a good place for people to post their Norwegian plans and adventures on BA, seeing as the whole thing is now spread over the BA sale thread, the TP run thread and the Premium Fare Deals thread (kudos to Calchas for doing the honourable thing and posting it where even non-BA FTers can see it and well done to the usual suspects who worked out the TP running potential! ).

I have been told independently and have seen a couple of other posts suggesting that BA plan to honour those bookings ticketed with BA. We shall see how that plays out. If not this will doubtless become the 'I've bought an RFS to OSL and I have nowhere to go lets see the northern lights and get intoxicated' thread

Now some of us...ahem....might have pulled the trigger and in our haste ended up with some interesting plans. I know that I will now be doing my first ever back-to-back, and at SVG, an airport that I haven't visited before. All for the sake of just under 24hrs in NYC, a place I go to lots anyway! In a 777 dormitory (no UUA available, no GUF2 for me...yet!)

No crazy plans but booked my Christmas vacation flight to SFO ^_^

I've got a more newbie type question: Should I wait a couple days to book my OSL positioning flights or just pull the trigger now? It'd be an avios booking so I suppose I'm just risking the GBP35 fee.

The risk if you don't is that you lose availability on the flights you need. As you say the risk if you do is £35, you would get the avios back. I think if BA are going to void everything we should know something before the end of play tomorrow but that is pure conjecture. The gold line have told a few people (including me) that BA are now well aware of the fare and agents believe that tickets are being honoured.

Thanks for posting this by the way, I was looking for somewhere to go over the new year period.

I only booked one trip, which would appear to be a low number!

I can't believe I missed out by about 30 mins! After pricing up on ITA and then getting on the GGL line, the prices were "uplifted"! So please don't brag too much you lucky lot!

We won't get another one of those offers for a long time!

Thanks crazy8534, and well done on the scoop! I think you did the right thing: it could have been a sale this morning, given the "let's gang up on Norwegian Air" that has been on for a while - though young KARFA's point about the low base fare did rather suggest it is an error fare, and confirmed by the swift removal of the offer. In the past this has happened when someone did some currency conversion by dividing rather than multiplying.

So I booked a date mid January, on AA.com, all ticketed, SVG-LHR-PHL-SAN and return, £389 for 780 TPs (not useful to me) and 33,454 Avios (every little helps). BA from SVG to PHL, then AA on their new A320 service. LHR to PHL is a 787-800 at the moment. CW and AA First throughout. I'll do the whole trip, so RFS to SVG back to back, and HBO revenue fare for the final leg SVG to LHR for £29.88.

I was planning a trip to California anyway so the planets aligned rather well, so thanks again crazy8534, I owe you a FR. I originally used the UK currency and Hold process so that I could book it quick, then double checked that I had typed everything in correctly and that it was valid, then 10 minutes later paid by Amex. It remains ticketed and valid for travel at this stage in the game.

I used SVG since the timings are good for that service and also it's the nearest Norway airport to London, the least likely to be hit by bad weather and it's great for back to back. OSL is a bit of a chore as an immediate turnround and slightly risky, BGO is risk free but further away and gets bad weather more often.

I think we need to know who here has the first of these amazing bookings. Having booked one myself for May I'll be waiting with baited breath for the first successful round trip.

My thoughts exactly. I have booked a single for 30 quid back to london. There seems to be no credit card charge as per the uk btw, but expect will get panned by the rate. No matter.

What are people's thoughts on back to backs at OSL? Doable or not? I did spend 5 seconds on one of the threads that said it was good, but how good? Or should i not risk it and go the night before which is my usual strategy, albeit not somewhere where a mars bar costs as much as a meal back home.

I'd say your definition of "swift" differs from mine - wasn't this fare available for almost 6h? A "swift removal" would have been if it was up for 30 minutes or so..

Booking is confirmed and ticketed, but not showing up on Amex yet. Is this weird? Other purchases have registered. E-ticket email was sent shortly after 10:00 this morning. Booking made on ba.com.

I'm booked for around the 20th September (forgive slight vagueness in dates at this stage!). BA metal to the east coast, AA transcon outbound, then a return of a short hop on AA then BA back from the west coast. I dearly hope someone is going a little earlier than me, to prove the fares are being honoured.

I'll be especially interested to see if BA do closely monitor whether the itinerary is completed. Our current plan is for my other half to jump off in LHR and skip the final leg; I'll continue to OSL with our bags, overnight there and come back the next day.

Wish I'd booked more than one. Hell, even a turnaround in Oslo....

In my experience this is not unusual. One booking recently took two months to show up on my Amex bill.
