I would stick in Row 2 on the 777. Row 1 is too near the galley.
Row 1 is great on the 747 for the novelty factor, but is close to the other Row 1 seat; my preference is still Row 2 for the 747.

Row 2 every time on the 777 - Row 1 is too near the galley/loo. Also, the K-side is generally a little quieter on a night flight (less foot traffic).
2K is probably the best First seat on the 777 for a solo traveller.

Just flew back from HND in 1A and on the 777 ERs the wcs are at the rear so 1A has zero foot traffic from other passengers. I didn't notice any noise at all from the galley, and rather liked being served first. Initially I thought I was getting extra special service but then realised it was just because I was the first stop.
It was my first time in F. After obsessing about what's better than others its pretty clear that there are no bad seats in F. WC proximity might mean you've a preference, and the blinds on window seats are pretty snazzy, but I feel I can finally stop obsessing!

Had 1A reserved for upcoming flights to Oz on most sectors - after experiencing it (on ATL-LHR, slightly spookily given this thread!) I've now switched them all to 2K. Stuck in 4K on A380 after the I got switched onto this flight late on due to a connecting flight schedule change. Agree with comments above re noise/light in 1A. As soon as I moved out of them they went grey though as I'm no longer a Gold, so was very much a one way switch!

The thing I like about row 1A/K is the slightly deeper wardrobe than found at other F seats. This houses my roll aboard luggage perfectly and makes it easily accessible to me throughout the flight without having to get up and fiddle around in the overhead. On the 772's there is a lav immediately in front of 1F and the F galley at door 1R which makes for slightly higher footfall and light disruption at 1K than at 1A... not that either have ever been to the point of being disruptive on past flights I've taken. The port side aisle on the A/D side has always just been that much less utilised in my experience.
