Gold Status

Hey Guys,

I need your help once more, I completed 2 weeks ago an itinerary which would put me just over the threshold for reaching gold, all TPs and Avios posted except for the MH flight. I already send a missing Avios claim.

I have 4 flights scheduled next week and I would love to use the Galleries First lounge for my trips. Would you know any way to speed things up in order to secure access?

Thank you!

Give BA a call and chase it up. If they already have a copy of your MH boarding pass, thus proof that you'd hit 1500TP, you could ask if they would put a note in the booking asking for entry to the F lounge? Otherwise just wait it out and hope it posts. The system will take 3-4 days to update to Gold though, even once the TPS have posted.

Was your MH flight definitely giving you enough TPs to get you Gold? Double check before you call.

Indeed check the MH flight was in an eligible booking class. I class doesn't earn anything unfortunately.

I checked and indeed it was I class, but isn't this a loophole? As if you go to Malaysia Airlines' website they don't list I as a possible booking class and therefor BA does not recognize it? The booking was ticketed on BA.

I am fairly new to all of this so sorry for ignorance, I am trying to understand.

Unfortunately not. I class on MH does not earn anything on BA.

Use this calculator to see what you'd earn on BA with OW partner airlines:

What matters is whose flight number you booked, not which airline operated the flight or which airline issued the ticket.

If you bought an MH flight number and you were booked in I class, then I don't think you should expect to get any credit. You ought to get credit if the booking class is listed on this page (for MH) (reached from this page). But if it's not listed, then it doesn't earn.

As others have noted there are a few MGH booking classes which don't earn.

For avios and TP earning in economy on MH:
- L, V, S, K, M, Y, B, and H earn avios and TPs
- N, Q, O, and G earn nothing

For avios and TP earning in business on MH:
- J, C, D, and Z earn avios and TPs
- I earns nothing

For avios and TP earning in first on MH:
- F and A ean avios and TPs
- P earns nothing

This post on a blog may give you a method of finding boking classes on the MH webiste when booking http://flystaytravel.com/how-to-find...lines-flights/

It has been raised before as well in these threads:
