BA Seat Master : Yes

BA Cabin Master : Yes

BA Schedule Master : Yes

BA Fleet Master : No (787 pending) - B767 is missing from the list? Done that too, 737 also, has the last flight gone yet?

UK Lounge Master : Yes

International Lounge Master : Yes

BA Executive Club Master : No (don't do the 241 thing, at least not yet. The rest are done)

BA FT Octomaster : No, probably a bit too lazy to do a TR, and I'd need to learn how to post images...

Bonus Star : Yes, would get that if I manage to complete the others.

Ooh, I've actually done some of these!

BA Seat Master - Almost, except the WTP throne seat
BA Cabin Master - Yes! (+ Concorde)
BA Schedule Master - Yes! (and most by age 7 on staff travel alone)
Subsidiaries/Franchises: Brymon, CityFlyer Express (LGW), Comair, OpenSkies
oneworld partners: AA, US, QF, QR (+ EI)
BA Fleet Master - Almost, except the 787 (but I have been on a QR 787)

Can we have pretty badges to collect and add to our profile??

This is one elusive scam (hipster web 2.0 folks may call it gamification) to make us all dump Avios on the shop rather than flights.
How about 'Find an non-flight item that is available for a decent Avios amount'?

I'm lacking the non-flight item and the 787. the latter will come in time and I am rather tempted to do the former just for this )

I qualify for BA Seat Master and am very close to BA Cabin Master. However, I hope I will never make it to this status as the only 'experience' that's missing is World Traveller

I am also close to BA Fleet Master but the BA A380 is still missing

If I could substitute the 767 for the 380 I'd have fleet master. Only have to add a UK domestic to be cabin master.

Fie on the "boarding card" requirement. I'd be a seat master based on what I've sat in; family boarding cards are fungible! (re:62K).

Otherwise, a first class flight from T5 on an A380 that does a 5th-freedom sector and counts as a TP run would more or less complete my set. (I would get UK Lounge Master next month if Gatwick First didn't close at 3. :-(

"you must have held a boarding card allocating each of the following BA seats at least once"

That would be a monster boarding card!

"To become a BA Fleet Master you must have travelled on every aircraft model currently operated by BA:"

Technically you don't say that the travel on said model has to be on BA. I've done a 787 on QR (several times), just not on BA.

> BA Cabin Master
> BA Schedule Master
> UK Lounge Master
Yes. BA operated lounges seem to get rarer and rarer though in Asia.
> International Lounge Master
> BA Fleet Master
If I can weasel out on the definition w.r.t 787. Where's the 767 long haul and 767 short haul? Both are still in regular service. And no separation between a short haul A321 and a midhaul?

----
> BA Seat Master
No, never in row 62. Why is it "good"?

> BA Executive Club Master
No. And perhaps you should also include "Booked and paid for an "obvious mistake fare"?

How about a "Buns of steel" merit badge:
* Earnt 300tp in a year ignoring CW and F travel
* Earnt 600tp in a year ignoring CW and F travel
* Earnt 1500tp in a year ignoring CW and F travel
* Earnt 3000tp in a year ignoring CW and F travel
* Earnt 5000tp in a year ignoring CW and F travel

And "Horrible alternative" badge:
* Spent at least 15 hours a week (90 min each way) for at least 45 weeks a year on a train/tube
* Spent at least 20 hours a week (120 min each way) for at least 45 weeks a year on a train/tube
* Spent at least 7.5 hours a week (45 min each way) for at least 45 weeks a year stood on a train/tube

BA Seat Master: Yes
BA Cabin Master: Yes
BA Schedule Master: Yes, if is BA CityFlyer considered a subsidiary? And including GRU-EZE as a 5th freedom flight.
BA Fleet Master: Yes, absolutely! Including the A318 and also the 757 and 767.
BA UK Lounge master: No, missing all the First lounges, most likely will visit during 2016.
BA International Lounge Master: Yes.
BA EC Master: No, never bought any non-flight item with Avios (and I don't think I ever will).
BA Octomaster: No, dozens of BA trip reports are in my blog, but never found the time to translate and publish any of them on FT.

BAEC status challenge – can you become a BA FT Octomaster?!

Ticking all the boxes except for WTP throne and avios for a non-flight item. Can't say either sounds very appealing ;-)

OK, I'll bite:

BA Seat Master - Yes

BA Cabin Master - Yes

BA Schedule Master - Yes

BA Fleet Master - Yes

UK Lounge Master - Yes

International Lounge Master - Yes

BA Executive Club Master - No Yes! (I just remembered I once "bought" a Eurostar ticket with Avios!)

Blimey. So I guess I really need to start working on a TR...

I like the idea, it's a nice touch for people like FTers who like counting stuff.

I have everything including the bonus with the possible exception of taking a fifth freedom BA flight. I vaguely remember being on a BA flight to Anguilla or thereabouts which might have had a stop-off that could have been fifth freedom?

To be inclusive and accessible to people who are enthusiastic about flying BA rather than just simply rich it should be relatively easy to achieve without an enormous budget.

So here it is! Can you become a BA FT Octomaster?!

Suggestions for refinements and improvements are welcome

BA Seat Master

To become a BA Seat Master you must have held a boarding card allocating each of the following BA seats at least once:

* 1A on any BA aircraft
* All the prime Club World upper deck seats on the 747 – either 62A or 62K and both 64A and 64K
* A centre seat in any cabin apart from First
* A World Traveller Plus ‘throne’ seat on the 747 – either 28B or 28J
* An exit row seat in either Euro Traveller or World Traveller

BA Cabin Master

To become a BA Cabin Master you must have travelled in every BA cabin at least once:

* UK Domestic
* Euro Traveller
* Club Europe

* World Traveller
* World Traveller Plus
* Club World
* First

BA Schedule Master

To become a BA Schedule Master you must have taken a flight operated by a BA aircraft on each of the following itineraries:

* A UK domestic flight

* A trans-Atlantic flight
* A flight to a destination in Africa
* A flight to a destination in either Asia or Australia (or both )
* A flight to a destination in Europe

* A fifth freedom sector (e.g. BAH<>DOH or SIN<>SYD) (this need not have been on a separate ticket, so LHR-DOH and LHR-SYD would count)

* A flight on either a BA franchise holder past or present (e.g. Comair) or subsidiary past or present (e.g. OpenSkies)
* A flight on one of BA’s oneworld partners

BA Fleet Master

To become a BA Fleet Master you must have travelled on every aircraft model currently operated by BA:

* Airbus 380
* Airbus 321
* Airbus 320
* Either Airbus 319 or Airbus 318 (or both )

* Boeing 787
* Boeing 777
* Boeing 747

(Note: I have not made 318 compulsory because New York is only one destination and hence too specific to make the challenge inclusive enough)

UK Lounge Master

To become a UK Lounge Master you must have visited each of the following lounges:

* Concorde Room at Heathrow Terminal 5
* Galleries First at Heathrow Terminal 5
* Galleries Club North at Heathrow Terminal 5
* Galleries Club South at Heathrow Terminal 5
* Galleries Club at Heathrow Terminal 5 B
* Galleries Arrivals at Heathrow Terminal 5

* Galleries First at Heathrow Terminal 3
* Galleries Club at Heathrow Terminal 3

* First lounge at Gatwick
* Terraces lounge at Gatwick

* At least one other BA lounge anywhere else in the UK (including Jersey)

International Lounge Master

To become an International Lounge Master you must have visited each of the following lounges:

* A BA operated lounge in Europe
* A BA operated lounge in the Americas
* A BA operated lounge in either Africa or Asia
* A lounge operated by one of BA’s oneworld partners

(Note 1: I have not included CCR at JFK because New York is only one destination and hence too specific to make the challenge inclusive enough)

(Note 2: I have not distinguished between first and business class lounges because first class lounges are too rare to make the challenge inclusive enough)

(Note 3: I combined Africa and Asia because there are not many BA operated lounges outside of Europe and the Americas)

BA Executive Club Master

To become an Executive Club Master you must have achieved each of the following:

* Used Avios or BA Miles to purchase a ticket for a flight operated by BA
* Used Avios or BA Miles to upgrade between any two cabins on a BA operated flight
* Used Avios or BA Miles to purchase a non-flight item
* Used Avios or BA Miles to make a redemption on a flight operated by one of BA’s oneworld partners
* Used a two-for-one voucher
* Complete a tier point run

BA FT Octomaster

To become a BA Octomaster you must complete all the above and post at least one BA-related trip report here on FT!

Bonus Star

To get the Bonus Star you must have not only become a BA FT Octomaster but also have completed at least one BA flight on a staff or airline industry travel basis!

Idea for refinement.

1. Boarding pass sequence 001 on any BA service. Bonus for LHR originating.
2. 1A on 747 or other long haul aircraft type. Triple bonus for Concorde.
3. Add Concorde.
4. EU261 compo without an argument.
5. Downgraded.
6. Baggage mishandled!
7. More than 25,000 avios in compensation for any flight.

I can't get seat master as have never flown WT+ and hope not to have to.

I get all the rest though.

Damit! I need a fifth-freedom flight, purchase a non-flight item for Avios and a trip to Gatwick to get the grand slam here.
