[Semi-OT] Do you use your FF luggage tags?
Hi All,
I've only recently become CX Gold, and my trip starting tonight will be my first since I've received the baggage tags. I will also soon be bronze, therefore I imagine I'll receive the BA tags as well.
Do you use them?
If so, the CX ones come with a sort of metal "sleeve". It may be a stupidly embarrassing question, but do you attach them to your luggage with that sleeve?

congrats on getting to bronze soon.... As for the CX gold Tags I would leave them in the sleeves as they will be more robust. well that's what I will be doing in a few days and only on my carry on.

I just don't like them but can understand why people put them on their checked luggage.
But I draw the line on hand luggage - it'd would feel like I'd be advertising my status to everyone in the airport process and on the plane. Almost as if to advertise DYKWIA. I prefer to stay incognito.

It seems to often be the DYKWIA types that rush to priority board and end up sitting down the back.

As an aside, I don't use them on my checked luggage either: I'd rather use a generic, non-standing out kind of form of identification. Call me paranoid if you like, but I can't see that there can be anything good that comes from unduly advertising status Having been to countries where luggage has a tendency to never arrive if it looks interesting, I'd rather keep my luggage as boring as I can.

I don't put them on the hold bags, as the bags aren't likely to start conversing with each other. And I don't buy black cases.
I do however put them on my carry-on, together with the FT tag. The latter gives fellow FT-ers the opportunity to say "Hello", and the Silver tag gives them the chance to completely ignore me as a person of little worth.

I put one tag inside each checked bag so that in the rare event that the destination label inadvertently gets removed there is at least a method for appropriate airline staff to know where to route the bag to if it gets lost.
This method has proven useful at least once.
