Hi, I'd like to try this out to check for BAEC Avios award seat availability on Aer Lingus in economy. Which fare buckets should I be looking at ?
Looking for Oct4th Dub-Bos, Oct 12th Bos-Dub.

Is it a different fare bucket when using Avios from Avios, rather than from BAEC ?! Not sure how else to word that !

Thanks in advance of your help.

EI Award Booking Classes are U/T (AKA CS/YS):

There is currently no EI Award Availability on those dates:

No, however EI is not an Avios redemption partner.

Thankyou ever so much for looking this up for me.
I'm tempted by a KVS or ExpertFlyer subscription but wouldn't get much use out of it - but that usually doesn't stop me from buying things :-) And I'd still play with it a lot just out of interest !!

I used http://www.flightstats.com/ to see what I could glean from that (first time using it) and presumed X was the redemptions bucket given that its mentioned in a previous post on this thread as such BUT of course I was just guessing that it was the same on EI as it was for whatever airline was being discussed there.
I quote..... "X is for Economy, P is for Premium Economy, U is for Business and Z is for First - these are the redemption classes. Additionally Golds can access V class availability for Economy rewards." from post #119.

Was looking for Boston as the first part of my journey to Vegas and San Francisco.

Flightstats shows 4 seats in X on most of their flights so was getting pretty excited :-(

I honed in on DUB-LAS outbound and then SFO-DUB inbound as I could have a few days in San Fran on my way home. I thought I'd found availability out on the 3rd and back on the 13th but of course I'd made the incorrect assumption that X was the necessary fare bucket.

Thanks very much for your help. I'd be delighted for any more help / info you can give my way on this but you've already been great. Thanks.

The post you quoted was mine - and referred to BAEC Avios availability for BA flights. It's similar for oneworld partners, but I've had some differences, mainly AA Y.

EI (Aer Lingus)

Talking nonsense, sorry !!

This is the availability for my upcoming flight (in the next 72 hours). It's been 9's all week in all classes and then suddenly today it's changed to this.

[KVS Availability Tool 7.4.2/Diamond - Availability/FS/US]
Code:

BKK  Bangkok Metro / Suvarnabhumi Intl TH = BKK DMK [VTBS]
LHR  London Heathrow UK [EGLL]

Carrier    Flight  From  Depart    To    Arrive    A/C  St  Availability
---------  ------  ----  --------  ----  --------  ---  --  -----------------------------------------------------------
BA        10      BKK  11:20    LHR  17:35    777      J4 C3 D3 R4 I4 W0 E0 T0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0

Do this imply that they're oversold in WT+ and Y? Or is this just normal behaviour just before the flight?

Well you're rather early.

This is UK availability, it might differ for other places.

All the discount Y buckets are presently closed.

Thanks Calchas

Yeah it's early but I still don't understand why class code O is closed so early?? It doesn't make sense at all. How come it can fill the Y class so quickly??

Very disappointed. I only want to fly with BA!!!
