LHR-FCO-LHR 9-11 Feb '18 crazy prices in all classes but RFS available on all flights

All BA flights to Rome 9-11 February 2018 are showing at more than £1000 return but there is RFS availability in all classes on all flights! Is this a bug in the system?

At a guess, more likely to be a conscious decision not to load any availability into the lower booking classes yet.

Too advance the price is not loaded yet. It would be a bug.

You can wait until November/December to book the flight or book RFS now.

And also the weekend before before valentines day. Maybe that is swaying the prices?

Way too early. BA wouldn't even be calculating demand for that flight until the end of summer. Try in September.

The cynic in me would suspect they are hedging their bets around possible 6 nations fixtures which have yet to be released for 2018.

I've seen this before, although not to that extent, with JER flights over the Christmas period. Currently the cheapest return is £300 HBO and in line with previous years.

When EasyJet release their fares towards the end of the month, the cheaper buckets then appear and it is a more normal price.

When prices are high, this is the time I like to book a RFS and then never look again at the price. At least I know I got a cracking deal at the time of booking rather than finding out I could have paid something like £30 later on.
