Do you know the way to say Vueling?
More of an IAG than BA topic, but amusing me nonetheless. Today in rapid succession various BBC announcers have referred to "Vwayling", "Voling", "Vooling" and my favorite "Verling." Is Vueling the carrier that dare not have its name pronounced the same way twice?

My name is Ling. Vue Ling :p

I'd say Welling is quite close.
Mix in a bit of a b, h and v sound with the w and I think you've got it. ;) That's going on WW's pronunciation anyway. |
If Avios == Adios
then Vueling == Dueling |
Vueling as in dueling as mentioned just above is how they pronounce their own r/t callsign.

I always rhymed with "fuelling", so every day on FT is another school day. |

The ATC callsign is pronounced "Vyooling".

That's hilarious, thank you. I'm heretofore employing the official Teutonic iteration:
http://translate.google.com/?hl=en#de/en/vueling JFKSYD2004's version sounds like a "Whip-Mistress" - not that I would know anything about that. |

The pronunciation in Spanish is actually BWEH-ling. I suppose in English you ought to replace the B with a V sound, like when you pronounce other Spanish words beginning with V (e.g. Valencia).

Vueling like fueling (agreeing with T8191 above )or more appropriate for aircraft - refueling...... so a rebranded Vueling might be named Revueling. :D
