We're cool … we both know it's too complicated for generalised comments. ^

I've read and tracked the saga for a couple years on numerous websites [including Crew ones], and been banned from one on numerous occasions
i think I have a fair understanding of what it's all about, apart for the personal factors as they affect individuals, of course.

Never experienced MF, so I defer to others.

Moving on?

And not all Mixed Fleet crew are 'clueless'.

This argument could go on, and on, and on, and on.

Good and bad in every airline on the planet.

Kind regards

Indeed. And could somebody paint a very general picture of the pay and benefits of similar employment grades on each fleet?

Re pay, mixed fleet are only paid an hourly rate of £2.60 and their basic. They don't get any increment or overtime payment or flight allowances as the old fleets do, but just a bonus pay if they are not sick or late or as they call it performance related pay! Also they work very hard and their shift pattern can be quite awful!
So because of these t&c's not being good, mf tends to attract very young people who have just left college, has no work experience and will only do the job for a year or two before they go back to uni etc. They only want to have fun and to party down route since it is not a career for most of them. LGW also has new crew on mf contract but they work alongside crew on the old contract, who are the majority, so you don't really notice the difference in service!

The contract and pay they receive is different to crew who joined ba prior to 2010.

They have one customer service manager in charge instead of a cabin service director and they don't have a purser in charge of first and world traveller.

Some crew on mixed fleet were temps on ww and a few have transferred from ww and e/f for promotion but the vast majority are direct entry crew from other airlines or brand new recruits.

These are the routes flown by mixed fleet.

Longhaul routes.

Accra
abuja
boston
chicago
denver
haneda
las vegas
los angeles (begins august 2012)
luanda
nairobi
rio de janeiro
san diego (route transfers to ww fleet august 2012)

shorthaul routes

hamburg
kiev
lisbon
lyon
manchester
paris orly
pisa
prague
st petersburg
toulouse
vienna

they wear the ba hat ( don't know why only they have been given the hat and not all fleets).

can anyone tell me for sure where mf flies these days? Do they fly to brazil (rio, são paulo?). Thanks

Hi MiraculousM. What does it say in the wiki of the thread I linked to in the post above your one? The list in that thread is up to date.
