Video of how your food is prepared onboard

Video on a blog I sometimes read. Shows how with little space and equipment they have to work miracles, and how easily cabin crew can totally ruin a steak

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi4UP...layer_embedded

This was shot onboard an AA 767 so maybe it is OT.

Very OT indeed - when was the last time you saw that much plastic surgery on a BA FA?

No espresso in CW?
You're kidding right?

Also, I thought the pilots were supposed to eat different meals incase one got food poisoning, or is that just an urban myth?

From the article that goes with the video here:

In the past, no two pilots could eat the same meal, and they had to be served at different times. At my airline, these restrictions have been relaxed, however.

Considering that is not Club World... Then, no... Not kidding.

At BA, pilots still eat different meals.

If only BA took the 'plate up food that's been cooked' approach rather than the current 'cook it all on its plate and hope for the best' approach...

If you look at the pilots trays, you'll notice that only one of the trays has an orange, rubber band and a piece of string on it.

Yes, and that is for the Captain... The First Officer just gets an empty tray.

Still, at least it is a bigger empty tray than the cabin crew get.

Interesting video.
Good to see how things are done in the little space they have to work with.
Would have probably gone with the penne after seeing the redness of the Chateau Brignon (sp?).

The captain didn't look overly impresed most of the time.

Is that a toilet in the cockpit behind all the sports bags etc?

All that talking over people's food makes me a bit nervous.

Makes one wonder how their reaction times would be impacted by having that gigantic tray fully laden on their laps if an emergency were to occur.

Good point !

I would have thought that the crew might have eaten at different times, thereby having one of them ready to react immediately to a situation, while the other "dumped" the tray.
