Apologies for the OT post - have tried to get the answers from searching and the FAQs, but nothing came up (I presume because I'm searching for an acronym).

I know that there is a posting requirement for entry, which I've read is the same for the equally mystical coupon connection. Are they one and the same?

If not, what goes on in there? Is it where all the cool kids hang out, smoking cigarettes and causing trouble for "the man"? Or is it some sort of Flyertalk-based Bacchanalian orgy? I only ask that because they are voting to allow pictures in that forum at the moment, and if it is the scene of Flyertalk's wild depravity, I want to start raising my posting count...

OMNI, OMNI P/R and Coupon connection aren't one and the same. OMNI and OMNI p/r are fora in which everything off topic can be posted, discussed. regular games such as count backwards from 10000 etc. are played. Coupon connection is a place where one can barter their wares. i.e. offer a free night stay in return for an upgrade voucher etc.

Per FT's own description:
OMNI is the place for vibrant dialogue on topics unrelated to miles, points, and travel. It is fascinating reading and provides quite a bit of humor and entertainment.

OMNI P/R

And a quick tip re: searching flyertalk. It drives me insane that so many terms are often rejected or too short so I use google's advanced search. just type into google: "site:flyertalk.com [insert search term here]" (without quotation marks) although for OMNI this doesn't return much (read: anything) that is useful for your queries

Basically it's a forum where you can be even more off topic than the BA forum

Thanks for the info - probably best that there is some sort of clearing house for the off-topic subjects, otherwise you would have people like me clogging up the BA fourm.

Also, thanks evanderm for the searching tips - find the Flyertalk search function (even the advanced version) a little fussy, so that will be a great help.

roughly correct, 180 posts and 180 days on flyertalk. Same now for coupon connection if I'm not mistaken, which used to be 90/90

OMNI isn't my cup of tea I have to say....although, many on this forum reckon it's where most of my posts belong.

But they are usually very entertaining, so I would rather they kept them where I could see them.

At any rate, the title of the forum is "British Airways Executive Club" - surely posts can be relevant to just one of the words in the title, doesn't have to be all four at once...
