OT: exploding laptops *again*
First you had the dell battery problem,
then apple now you have The exploding IBM http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/16/t...es-bomb-scare/ :-: I read about korean airlines now banning zippo-laptops from the cabin and you *MUST* check in your laptop, can anyone confirm ? from: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15052 and for some entertainment value: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2002/11...s_with_laptop/ |
Wonder what the DfT will make of this latest incident. Am sure they have a ludicrous knee jerk reaction up their sleeves.
I don't know whether checking a laptop in is any safer than having it in the cabin. A fire onboard is bad either way :( - at least in the cabin it is likely to be noticed and hopefully extinguished. |
