That’s a truly depressing menu. I urge you to complain

What do people think is the best way to send a complaint around the menu ahead of the flight? Is it in response to You First or via the direct complaints site on ba.com? Thanks

I think the 'We apologise if your meal choice is not available' is relatively new on First menus? A sign of just how customer-centric BA is of late.

It's been there since Jan 2023 I believe

Either/or. In all likelihood it may be responded to by a human or computer in a fairly bland way, but will be logged somewhere as a datum and may yield 10k-ish Avios which seems like a fair transactional reclamation of value as a minimum.

Seeking BA First Meal Advice...

My better half is flying BA First MIA-LHR in a few weeks. I was able to request the menu from the You First team (pasted below) and unfortunately found nothing she would likely eat (picky eater + pescatarian). I was surprised that there is no fish entree offered and wondering what her best course of action would be so she doesn't go hungry whilst flying across the pond. :p

Can she request a menu from Club World once on board to see if there is something she would prefer from that menu, or would she be better off pre-ordering a special meal (though there's generally no description of what specifically those entrees will be)?

I am trying to convince her to set out for the airport early so she can have a nice meal in the AA Flagship First Dining room, but she normally prefers not to spend too much idle time in airports, no matter how wonderful the lounge options are, especially when the lounge and gate of departure are far from one another, as is the case at MIA.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. THANK YOU!

Pretty uninspiring. However due to a late connection I was hungry and needed feeding.

Ba285 and CCR
overall catering was superb, only thing I didn’t like was the light meal mains and dessert
other than that, main meal lobster and lamb were superb, as was the chocolate dessert
everything in the CCR was superb

What's the latest on the Brunch menu? Is it being dropped from Feb? Have an F flight next weekend and again a couple of weeks later which I could switch by an hour if necessary.

The coronation scotch egg was very good when I had it on BA283 the other day. We both chose the mushroom lattice pie and both were pretty bad with the pastry being rock hard. The mushroom filling was small but tasty.
The two South African wines on the wine list are indeed good but it is hardly a sign of BA upping it’s game in the wine department more a sign of they stumbled across some wines which met their wine bottle price which seems to have been consistently “enhanced” over the years. The menu we had whilst not brunch still seemed like the remnants of brunch. The only main course not brunch like was filet mignon which I tend to avoid on BA.

LHR to LAX BA283

You first emailed across the menu.

looks like this is still the brunch menu?!
can I complain to the IFM once on board as the choices really don’t seem First.

note- under light bites they seem to have removed the sandwich option…

The A La Carte menu is the same as I have for an upcoming flight to DFW in a few days. The main options are really very weak. There are also less choices of starter and desserts so worth complaining.
Interesting to see another egg option on the light meal menu too!
I had a colleague on the same flight to DFW last week but in club and no brunch/egg options provided there which makes this even more frustrating for First. You can see those menus in the FT club food thread.
Let us know the outcome of your complaint.

The chocolate and hazelnut bar is EXCELLENT.

You First has sent me the exact same menu for BA207 LHR to MIA on 29th Jan. It is still the Brunch menu! I don't usually order beef (never cooked right) but that's the only choice if you want a proper meal on a 9+ hour flight. I also suspect I won't even get that as a choice as I'm only a BAEC Silver so they will probably run out before they reach my "pay grade". I intend to complain. It won't do any good but at least I will get it off my chest. We fly down to LHR from Newcastle and I am seriously considering flying to Paris with Air France instead and going on from there in future.PS the second light meal was afternoon tea.
