Isn't VS going back in October? Terrible news 🤦🏻‍♀️

BA's A321 is not fit for TLV. Horrid small plane.

I agree 100%. Between that and the new BAC, I'm done with BA. 12 years of GGL will end next April.

BA have now cancelled TLV flights until Wednesday, suppose because of the missle from Yemen which landed near the airport this morning.

Yes BA have cancelled because of the security situation. I have a relative due on a flight out of Tel Aviv today and I was able to rebook them onto El Al (I booked the flight) but the GGL lady said flights out of TLV are very full which is obvious. No seats today or tomorrow when I made the change an hour ago but at least BA are allowing rebooking to El Al

Luckily I was able to call the GGL line as I booked and paid for the ticket. They checked and a rebook to El Al policy had just been issued. Nothing was available to my relative on Manage My Booking. It just said to call

Rebooking guidelines in place for flights until 11 May - passengers can re-route +/- 14 days to TLV, ATH or LCA if the flight is still operating. If cancelled then standard rebooking options apply, including rebooks to other airlines. Nothing specific for El Al yet, but that will apply to cancellations at short notice, and I would expect a wider set of options with El Al in a few days.

Hope someone can share their experiences about rebooking on El Al if the flight was canceled as opposed to BA getting them to LCA.

Hi all, my flight on the 13th has been cancelled, and on the MMB page states no flights for the next month. Are they required to rebook me on to ELAL, assuming there are seats available (which currently there are in El Al.s website)? They are saying as it’s an avios booking they do not have to rebook me. Help! Thanks.

The you spoke to agent is completely wrong. The obligation to re-route you at the earliest opportunity applies to all public-rate bookings. Points bookings such as Avios redemptions qualify as such; Article 3(3) of UK261 could not be clearer:
This Regulation shall not apply to passengers travelling free of charge or at a reduced fare not available directly or indirectly to the public. However it shall apply to passengers having tickets issued under a frequent flyer programme or other commercial programme by an air carrier or tour operator.
Given the circumstances, the re-routing obligation plainly requires rebooking onto El Al as they are the only airline offering direct flights to/from LHR at the moment.

If BA refuse to do so, ask the agent to note this in the booking if possible, and do not accept a refund - simply leave the BA booking as it is. Make a cash booking with El Al and claim back the cost from BA once you land.

Thanks. They doubled down, saying there was no rebooking policy to EL AL at the moment and even if there was my avios ticket wouldn’t count. Now purchasing EL AL , but only a relatively cheap business fare available on one of the legs so I wonder if I will get that reimbursed. Amy advise as to how to go about requesting reimbursement?

BA isn't showing flight availability from LHR/TLV until June 15, 2025. Could be a sign they are canceling service for over a month.
