I looked at some Easyjet flights from SOF-MAN etc. and sone were as low as £11. Good option if you want to fly cheaply back.
|
Would you Adam and Eve it, I managed to generate a BP for the SOF-LHR of my B2B today 🍾
Now watch my connection at LHR - HEL hit the skids later due to delays 😂 Any creative ideas for rerouting to avoid OCW direct to SFO with the one tray? I’m aiming high and going for AZ to LAX via FCO. |

Around €940 for SOF-LHR-SOF on the 29th/5th now ;)
Seems to cost more to get out of Sofia than into it! |
I'll use this thread for this question.
Booked a few day trip as a holiday. Looking at spending a couple of days in Sofia (will that be enough?), and looking at staying at the IC. Prices range from £108/night for the base room up to say £159 for a King Classic / Mountain View / Lounge access (have Spire Ambassador status) (£18/night if I want 5k bonus points as well). Around £400 for 2 nights if I go for the 10k points and 1 day cancellation in case BA decide to go on a cancelling spree again. Is this actually expensive for Sofia? Paid £55 at the HGI at OTP airport a while ago (£81 the second time). Not the same country, but don't think Bulgaria is exactly overly modern as of yet? Contemplating popping somewhere else for a couple of days before returning to Sofia for the return flight. Anywhere recommended should I decide to look at this? i.e. Bucharest, Skopje etc. if I want to leave the country. Was looking at SOF-LHR-SOF. although my dates have CE out of a Monday, return in economy on Wednesday (no CE available on some days or ££££), so I'd be staying in London for a couple of nights unless there was something cheap out. |

Thanks. I managed to get rebooked onto one of the days which has a 65 minute turnaround. It didn't let me do it using the online disruption tool, but an agent was able to do it over the phone for me.
My rebooked flight has now also been cancelled, and there don't appear to be any other flights within the dates I can fly that have a 60min+ connection time. So the BA agents were unable to rebook me on any return flight. I've had to rebook the outbound with an agent, get a refund for the return, and book a new single fare for a return on that same day. So for anyone else not familiar with B2Bs from LHR to SOF, this would definitely have been much easier if I had booked it as two singles. |

Sofia can be as expensive as you want. Some good restaurants right now are Cosmos, Fake French, constantinoff, . Generally it's cheap for taxis (use Yellow app) and drinks. I paid £7 for 3 pints of imported beer. Easy trip from Sofia is to Plovdiv and you can see some culture. I'd just get a taxi booked via the hotel. Avoid the train unless you want an adventure. Coaches also a safe inexpensive option. You can get a taxi to Skopje as well (I've done it, lovely scenery on the way). |

+1 for Cosmos. Had a superb tasting menu that came with drinks pairing which was an innovative mix of cocktails and really good local wines. Would go back in a heartbeat.

[I have reposted my question in the main thread for B2B]

Some more schedule changes for me for Feb 2023. Saturday 3rd rotation cancelled.
BA won't book on other carriers so have to stay to 4th now. |
Sunday flights have been cancelled in Oct/Nov too, have to choose Saturday or Monday.
