Looks like I have an excuse to stare at some boobies next week at LHR. In the name of safety...:)

Now i'm curious.

A quick search of The Washington Post, Politico, CNN and the Wall Street Journal and even the TSA website itself brought up no hits on "Heathrow" related to any kind of current security scare.

It doesn't mean it's not happening, but so many of these news outlets travel to and from the UK for business that certainly somebody would have picked it up, even when making their round of "source check" calls to TSA and Homeland Security which happen routinely. Couldn't check the New York Times, because it's behind a pay wall.

If it was the US requiring it for US flights, it's odd these major news outlets haven't picked it up--or maybe it's just an oversight.

So where did this come from--the core, original source I mean. Alot of other online news outlets have picked it up and are running with it. But what's the source?

When the NSA or some other US entity is involved, these kind of stories usually hit the US media earlier on as we have lots of self-serving leakers and fewer whistleblower like Snowden.

Except that's not a euphemism for breasts. It means sausages.

Disappointingly juvenile, misogynistic thread :td:.

I'm a lady (albeit with my own boobs). I dont find it at all misogynistic. I find it quite witty. I assume that you are also female as you find it to be misogynistic - what specifically offends you on behalf on fellow female kind?

I experienced the female scanning at T5. I can assure you they were screening women much more carefully than men. Had I known it was boob related I would quite happily have stripped off and gone topless to save 40mins in the queue.

I think people are entitled to react as they see fit, and I don't intend to engage in a feminism competition with you.

Which is not what I intended . I was just interested in what was causing you concern. I apologise if I offended you it wasn't intended. It highlights that one woman may find it misogynistic and others may not. We can't make assumptions 1 way or another and I didn't want to sound like I was not seeing your view as valid- just sharing mine as well.

I just hope it has eased off a bit before I fly again next week. From other reports it does sound like I was unlucky- or maybe they had just started. If they are scanning women more closely then they need more female officers or they need to let men search women (which I would have no issue with but others may). I have a male doctor, masseur etc and they are alone with me. I have no issue with a male security officer patting me down in public view in an open space. I would assume that man was a professional and to be honest I probably wouldn't even have given a second thought if they were male or female.

:( Let us hope this story inspires no inappropriateness from the grope team security searchers.

Joking. It's actually been a while since I had my breasts themselves felt at the security (now, that was a completely different matter - I was properly groped that time but too young and naive to complain. If that happened to me now, I would call in the manager.).

They seem to try to feel for the bra wires though.

OMG that is awful.
