Does anyone know how many executive club members there are in each tier (Blue, Silver, Bronze)?

Same question for Virgin Atlantic's

thanks

Welcome to FT, stroller55!

May I be the first to give you the definitive answer about BA Bronzes?

Zero.

The tier won't exist until next week. ;)

For BAECm About 60,000 Gold, 300,000 Silver, 0 Bronze. This does not include OW equivalents.

Oh, dear. That makes us Silvers really quite common, doesn't it! :D

Damn.

Damn.

I was surprised at the number of golds as well. A well subscribed club at all levels

On the information that BA released in the press information for the new bronze card. They, BA, said that there would be 120,000 people who would benefit from this card.

I wonder how many silver members will stop flying tier point runs and be happy with a bronze card. The main useful benefit being the 25% increase in BA miles / Avios points.

It all depends on how your earn the tiers, of course.

There are many unfortunates who are Gold because their employer sends them hither and yon endlessly, in the pursuit of grubby commercial interest. I do not actually begrudge their status ... I feel they deserve some compensation for the awful lives they have to lead, despite the concomitant personal fiscal benefit.

Pity the poor pensioners :(
We scrimp and save to enjoy our holidays/vacations, scrabbling under seat cushions to acquire the funds needed for yet another holiday ... and yet forever denied that Gold status. We're not called "Silver Surfers" for no reason, you know! :D :D

mikey2124 lives on a different planet, and should not be included in the debate ;)

Stuff that for a game of marbles ... :D

What next?
Joining the local OAP's Club for Bingo Night and a free cup of tea? ;)

Im surprised there will only be 120,000 Bronze card holders if there are 300,000 Silver. I suppose there will only be a 300TP gap for them to fall into but even so, it surprises me, I thought the numbers would be closer.

I could guess [randomly] there might be 1,000,000 Blues who just never achieve any sort of status but are still out there somewhere. So if 10% of them wake up, and read the emails, and fly BA ...

After all, it costs nothing to join [unlike the Chase promotion ... ooops, sorry ]

We could start by estimating the number of Silvers who actually get there and stay there by flying TP runs. It's a pretty small number, I would have thought.

However, if there will be about 120,000 Bronzes, then I think that 300,000 Silvers can't be right. It would be astonishing if the numbers in each of the tiers comprised anything other than the normal pyramid.

The definitive answer is yes, there are people who know how many members are in each tier.

Well, just to speculate further...I would have thought that come May next year there will be 1,8M Blues, 180k Bronze, 285k Silver and 45k Gold. Or approx. 78% Blue, 8% Bronze, 12% Silver and 2% Gold.

I missed out the changes in the economy who are affected over the next year as well. There are many who's travel plans are changing in the next year.

As for Gold, to put another way. There are http://www.bamedia.co.uk/firstlife.html 44,000 potential readers. As we all know its easier to maintain gold when flying at the front. Okay some of the people will be opups and some have no status at all. There is supposed to be a point in there somewhere.

A perfectly reasonable assumption, on first look. ^

However, I would expect 12 months' from now [sorry, "going forward" ;)] to see a substantial increase in your predicted Bronze %ge. A return to Benichav or Caribchav gives 2 sectors, and presumably some people pay for CE/CW for that. I really can't be bothered to do the maths, but its surely a possibility/threat?
