Helicopter transfer Rio

Hi

Does anyone know a reliable helicopter service in Rio that could be booked for a transfer from GIG to the Intercontinental? Any feel for prices would also be good.

Have also requested info on this from the hotel with no response as yet.

I thought this might be a quick way of getting there whilst including a aerial tour of the city, rather than taking one of the many tourist flights you can book.

It would be for 3 or 5 people.

Cheers
Crowe

TAM offers helicopter transfer service in Sao Paulo, GRU airport (they also take care of your baggage, of course).

(they are very expensive and other companies offer better rates. You cannot compare to the very affordable DL and CO transfer service in NYC).

I do not think TAM offers the same service in GIG. However, I can strongly recommend the following helicopter tour in Rio de Janeiro. They may arrange to pick yout at the airport and make the tour at the same time. They have a fantastic helipad towards Corcovado. Tour price/transfer is about USD200.

I don't anticipate a problem with that, one case each will go fine on something like a decent sized Bell, even for 5 people. I'n not planning to hire an R22! Certainly easier for 3 though I agree.

My only other helicopter experience was a transfer from the Peninsula Bangkok to Don Muang, plenty of room for both people and bags.

Thanks for the address above, will try them and see if they can be persuaded to go out to the airport.

I am sure you wont have problems to ask them to prepare your own tour and pick you up at airport, provided it is not during busy periods such as end of year, carnaval, etc.
