MBNA/flybmi.com extra miles problem

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with extra miles not being credited from MBNA. Miles for flights booked via flybmi.com did not get 3x the milage (only the normal 1.5x). I assume it was because the flights show up as "British <booking ref>" on the credit card statement.

I have been calling MBNA and Diamond Club and none of them are able/willing to credit the missing miles. Instead MBNA insists that only Diamond Club can credit the missing miles while Diamond Club (India) says this can only be done by MBNA.
This is now going on for 6 days... and I feel this is becoming an endless loop.

Diamond Club (Joanne) can you help, or does anybody else have an idea? It is hard to believe that I am the only one who has/had this situation.

Thanks a lot for your help/suggestions.

Write to: Victoria Bailey, Marketing Customer Support, MBNA Europe Bank Limited, PO Box 1004, Chester Business Park, Chester, CH4 9WW.

She is most helpful, give her as much detail as you can to support your claim.

Oh I forgot about that. I shall look into it for my booking(s) too. Thanks.

Thanks for that Alinlondon. Had the same problem, but just haven't been bothered enough to pursue it. (Bad on my part)

Joanna - can you confirm exactly who really needs to sort this problem? Does it lie with BMI or MBNA? Only it is something thathas cropped us a problem for a few people now, so hopefully we can point them in the correct direction going forward.

I've had this same problem last month. I called MBNA, and apparently they are aware of the mistake, and the bonus miles will post on next month's statement.....

My succinct contribution: "Me too"

Mr Midget too. MBNA says DC must sort, DC (India) says MBNA must sort.
Emailed DC Thursday - waiting to hear.

Has anyone had any joy with getting the extra miles posted? Another statement has just been released on my account and the bonus miles for a BMI booking have not appeared... again

Also no bonus miles for me... called MBNA last night and they're looking into it....

Just done the same:

"It's a problem that BMI need to sort"

Woohoo, round and round and round we go again!

I got a call back from the helpful girl at MBNA today who said she had spoke to the "Points" department and they need the
Date, names & flight details of all bookings involved????

I said that the statement lists the booking reference. That should be enough. It's not her fault, she is just passing on the info from another team who I feel don't have a clue.

Is it worth a couple of thousands miles to give them details I feel are irrelevant? I think not.... :td::td:

MBNA and BMI need to sort themselves out.

How are people getting on with these claims?

If you make a redemption cash +miles and give your MBNA BMI card - do you also get the 3miles/pound - the booking is showing up as 3111 BRITISH [booking ref] DONNINGTON.

Haven't heard anything since my MBNA complaint. But I'd expect it to take a while....

Strictly speaking the double miles are only for bmi.com bookings - so if you book via the call centre you shouldn't get the miles. However in the past (when things were still working ok) I did get double miles for those bookings as well :)

I had to same situation and scenario.

However I thought it was worth the extra 1000's of miles (otherwise I would not have the card ) so I persevered and gave the details even though they were on the statement.

The extra miles were credited the following month.

I have so far only found ONE MBNA member of staff that actually knows what they are doing.

The 'points' department are a back office who can't be contacted directly.
Overall MBNA are total muppets.

Never mind bonus miles, I've not had my usual MBNA miles posted yet. The latest it has ever been is the 8th. Postal Strike????, surely not.
