Cheapest economy books into E. So will that be .5 miles as per shorthaul, or 1 as per longhaul. And I wonder when the first compensation claim will go in for misleading product information? Click on the info about Business Restricted and it promises you 60'' leg room as per longhaul.
BD must now be the most complex simplfied airline in the world. |

Hopefully not run by the clueless lounge dragons at the business and/or Navigator lounges. AX |
Ex DME there appears to be no virtually no difference between BD and BA in economy fares or fare rules. Ex-LHR, BD has an promotional 'N' fare, which is £30 cheaper than BA's N class, but this is not replicated ex-DME.

Out of interest, why can't you book a ticket from MAN (or other UK airport)-DME on the website?

You CAN use them on long-haul, but the upgrade is from Eco to Premium Eco. Since Moscow doesn't have Premium Eco, you may find it upgrades into J (the only alternative would be to refuse to accept the vouchers, which would be very odd.)

BD's A320 appears to travel faster, and be turned faster, than BA's 767s on the comparable schedules. While the A320 is smaller than a 767, I suspect that BD can not unload, service and load a full A320 at DME in the scheduled 50 minutes. |

I'm pleased that we're getting more competition on this route.
But I suspect that the current level of supply / demand imbalance means that a single additional A320 won't bring down fares by much overall. I truly hope that this new service eventually means that BA can no longer fill every seat on their 767s with lousy service and exorbitant fares. I guess BMI will have a single aircraft with the new fit-out, so expect lots of delays and cancellations if the plane goes technical. I'm longing for the day when Virgin comes to Moscow! |

Intermediate stop on the Virgin Tokyo service in its early days when the older-model 747s couldn't make it nonstop. Eliminated when longer-range aircraft came along. |
