Admin Fee

Hello everyone!

I work in the refunds department at BMI and Ive visited this forum a few times over the last couple of months. I dont have anything to do with Diamond Club refunds but I did receive an e-mail today informing the team that the admin fee for processing refunds is increasing from £10 to £25 to be inline with the rest of the refund applications.

Not very exciting news but I thought I'd tell you all just so you know if you didn't already.

I guess the least we can do is welcome you to the forum :). Thanks for the news.

Welcome bmiemployee, thanks for the heads up. No doubt bmi would have forgotten to release the information otherwise!

It makes sense to have a higher charge for refunding than changing I suppose.

Presumably the additional charge will only apply to future bookings?

Welcome to FT bmiemployee and thanks for the heads up.

Hello bmiemployee .

I want to know why bmi charges GBP25 to refund taxes only when it only costs GBP10 to refund a flexible fare? How is that fair? SAS refunded me my taxes on a non-refundable fare without any fees.

Am really pissed off.

I've done a search to find out if the £25 admin fee is charged when you cancel a fully flexible business fare, c-class fare.

I haven't been able to get a definitive answer. Can somebody please clarify.

Thanks in advance.

BA charges £30 for refunding a fully flex ticket, but at least the refunds process is quick and efficient.

 :td: on this one

Has a full refund column which I would take to mean no admin fee.

Ok, I have just spoken to the refunds dept, and they have confirmed that Y and C fares are indeed fully flexible in that you obtain a full refund - no admin fee taken, except the credit card fee of £4.95 if that was charged on non-mbna cards used.

They also confirmed that on award cancellations, £25 is charged per ticket in the booking and not per booking, as DC incorrectly advised me previously.

Hope this clarifies the point.

This makes it sounds like a trend is apearing; the credit card surcharge (booking fee) that used to be per booking but is now per passenger.
