On FB:

Would you like to be involved in the development of our new website?

We are looking for five individuals to help with some usability testing in London. Testing will take place in the afternoon/evening with light snacks and refreshments provided.

Planned date for testing - 28th June.

Please email your details to open [at] flybmi.com for further information.

Regards

bmi social team
I nominate FOM :D

A Tuesday?

That's our BMI I suppose . Would had otherwise loved to go to London and berate them over the littlest of things, and take apart the site...

Constructively of course. Because I like to help ;)

Tiger_lily Jun 6, 2011 7:24 am

They actually say Sat 28th on FB:rolleyes:

Same here.

Oxon Flyer Jul 5, 2011 4:06 pm

so, will we see a 'website testing trip report' ? (particularly, how lavish was the food and drink ? ;))

BigVince76 Jul 6, 2011 8:50 am

Well I am afraid they required me to sign a confidentiality clause so I can't go into any detail but I think it is OK to say it was very much focused on the visual look and usability of the website and not so much its functions. It was also only dealing with bookings and not diamond club. I did not see anything too scary or foreboding on the new site!

As far as food and drink are concerned I arrived a little late so was offered a plastic cup of water but in the waiting area there was a table groaning under the weight of coffee and biscuits. Not a toastie, or even a finger, in sight!

Just as poor as the website then :D

So, as expected, it's the classic bmi fix of not cleaning up the mess, just spray a bit of perfume on it.

To be fair I am not sure I could draw that conclusion from what I saw yesterday. You may very well be right however all I was being asked to test was how easy to use a new website would be. Additional features, or indeed fixing current features, would not have been part of this stage of the website development.

Now if BMI really want to get things right they should be getting costumers involved in developing the features offered on their website. Whether or not this has or is going to happen I do not know.

FlyingOnceMore Jul 6, 2011 1:03 pm

I think like many here, we're not really that interested in additional features, just standard airline website ones that actually work.

So a bit more fancy dressing to hide the fact that basic things still don't work? ;)

BigVince76 Jul 6, 2011 4:09 pm

Well RAPC, it's my eye ofr detial that bmi hired me for!

I understand that one tester, having worked through both the prototype scenarios, then ran the same transaction through the existing live website, and managed to find more bugs there than in the prototypes. :D

I get a sense of Deja Vue ... :D

Kevincm Aug 4, 2011 9:28 am

My first thought was "National Express" if I was honest.

But then the second thought was "very much in the taste of the Father".

Shall I start a bugtraq thread then?.....

hugolover Aug 4, 2011 9:34 am

I've cleared my cache, settings et al but all I get is the old one???
