Problems getting TK miles to post properly IF...
 

I just found out that a few of a friend's TK flights have not been posting properly. Upon closer inspection, it seems that flights to IST post fine. Its only the flights from IST to wherever that seem to have issues... even though your boarding passes have the correct new BD numbers on them.

A simple solution may be to ask the TK transit desk at IST to reprint your boarding pass and to give them your BD # there again. Make up some excuse to say you want your seat changed or something.

It *May* work... don't know. I'll find out next week when I fly via IST to BKK and see if they're do that at the transit desk.

Good luck with TK. My friend did a few PVG-IST-(LHR-)DUB flights and tried to credit to CO. I remember making one of the res for her and entering her OP #. We called TK and they gave us the run around and tried to sell us other stuff but we never got her miles.

Shouldn't your friend be chasing the miles up with CO via a retro-claim, rather than TK?

Well as this is the DC forum, CO really isn't the issue. I assume you want points credited to DC. All you have to do is give it a little while to see if the points come through eventually and if they don't just send the Boarding Pass to DC.

There should never be a need to fake a seat change to re-register your number or a situation where you don't get points for a qualifying flight because you are given "the run around" by an airline whose frequent flyer scheme you are not a member of. You just need to let DC sort it out. If the flight is valid you will get the points eventually.

You definately shouldn't have any problems with retro claims for TK flights. There is another thread that clearly says that TK is not one of the airlines that requires airline approval for retro claims to be posted.

Is anyone having regular issues with miles crediting from flights taken on TK? It seems I get some legs credited, but not others... How long should it take to credit?

Rule #1 - save the boarding pass.

Mile should be credited in a matter of days, unless something is wrong. In that case, send them the BPs and you will get the miles in 1-2 weeks.

This question has come up in the past so I've merged the threads together.

I can give three recent experiences within the last 3 months. All long-haul C trips from different places in SE Asia to IST and back (but never beyond IST). Usually all my (and my GFs) TK flights posted to BD without issues within 2-5 days from the flight. There are sometimes difficulties when the FFP number is entered as some staff in SGN for example have not heard of BD so giving them the airline code helped.

In one instance my SGN-BKK leg posted, but my BKK-IST didn't and I had to retro-claim it with BD. That was because the folks in BKK (who supposedly have control over that flight) decided to reseat me on the BKK-IST sector and by doing so somehow managed to erase my BD number when issuing the new BP. Apart from that I haven't encountered any issues.
