I certianly hope that's not a general case. Incoming one week rental from SNA to SFO in less than a month.

I hope this is more of the same...

I say that if you are qualified to use a code, don't use it.

What is "qualification"? Do we have confirmation that this is an employee code?

The statement confuses me. If you are qualified DON'T use the code???? But if you are not qualified then DO use the code? Or are you saying "don't use the code period"???

I used it 3 days ago without incident.

This is not an Avis code. I have used it many times and will continue since I'm an amateur athlete and I always need assistance.;)

For not being an Avis code it somehow sure brings the price down on Avis rentals. :p

Correction: Not an Avis employee code.

I've booked five reservations-- all using this code--just finished my fourth today--all receipts show getting the 5,000 point bonus + usual Avis miles. Never a problem--my last rental is next weekend--expect to get another new/loaded Buick Lucerne and as always no problem with the code-- usual upgrade from subcompact and full posting of points. Best of luck to all^

I used this code for a rental out of RNO from 7/12 - 7/17 with no issues or questions from the staff.

So long as we're loopholing, does browsing FlyerTalk while eating potato chips count as an athletic activity? :D

I just used this code in Ohio and their computer's wouldn't let it got through. The said they were getting a message they have never seen before. So they wrote the contract manually. I'll have to see what my card gets charged.

Also, using this AWD they didn't let me purchase liability coverage as they said "my company" didn't allow it.

ps- I also assume it waived the underage fee (or they just didn't realize I was underage)

Careful on that one - the two times I rented with Avis while underage I thought the same thing as the underage fee wasn't on my contract and the estimated total was the same as it was online (where the uage fee isn't added). Then when I returned the car the fee was added and the total was as I expected it to be. Not sure why they did it this way or maybe my situation was a fluke occurence.

Back on topic, I'm proud to report that I picked up a Premium car at YYZ using this code and no questions at all, and it was a Shift Manager who rented to me and I had to go to the counter since I updated my CC since last using Preferred. I did notice on my confirmation that I had the D005297 rate yet it said "AWD n/a" on the booking.

Used this code D005297 last week for a 9 day rental at YHZ with no problems.

Good to know -

Any other successes or failures should also be posted and it would be appreciated.

setup the PIL with a big caddy DTS in FL for the weekend, four days, 189$ with ASAP, instead of 398$. Preferred pickup no problem, NQA, seems to have worked fine.

Now, if I can only get them to fill it before return,!!!
