NetJet code K444404 - Problems Using?

Anyone ever had experience/issues using this code? Giving me an awesome rate in Munich at the end of the month and really don't want a big hassle as I am not traveling alone. Thanks!

I have used this code several times in Italy, never had a problem with it. Consistently given 40% discount. However you should note that if you have an accident there is a huge excess to pay with this code so you need to use a credit card which covers your excess or buy a separate insurance which covers it. I use insurance4carhire.

Discount code for Italy

I have used this code many times in the past year or so and it has always given me 40% discount with no questions asked in Italy. You must be aware though that there is a huge excess on this code, so you should cover yourself with extra insurance; I use insurance4carhire which is very cheap and they do pay up in the event of trouble, as my son found out the very first time he used them!

I've never been asked for ID with this rate, but I'm actually eligible to use it. Note that it generally allows only 100 miles a day rather than unlimited miles.

ajnaro Apr 7, 2008 4:53 pm

I have used this code many times in the past with no problems. Avis does not require an id for it. Lately, however, it has not given me any discount at all, or at least none to speak of, for rentals outside of the US. Although it does not come up as invalid, I suspect that Avis must have assigned Netjets a new awd.

Apparently it allows unlimited kilometers in Europe. I tried it in Switzerland - every single reservation shows unlimited kilometers.

Still the best rate I can find in Europe.

I used this code 3 weeks ago in Munich (Hauptbahnhof). No questions, no problems.

I also got unlimited kilometers.

My apologies for my imprecise posting: the Netjets awd got me no discount at all in Australia and was not among the best codes in other locations. I am still seeking a good code for Australia. The one I had got a 20% discount but is now coming up as invalid.

What exactly is an excess? Is it like a deductible? I tried this code on the website for a rental in Italy and the price dropped by a huge amount.

Yes

K444404

I've been reading through the forums and with the exception of the one guy who picked up in Zurich (Avis' city office) and another person who picked up in Athens (not sure where), has anyone had recent (2009) success using the K444404 code in Europe? Specifically Austria? I have a reservation for the end of this month and am traveling with the wife and 6 month old.

I also found G298100 which offers equally good rates, only problem is my reservation is booked for this small Austrian airport and the model I have reserved is now sold out and rates have gone up considerably since I booked nearly 2 months go. So I am hesitant to call and switch the code if K444404 should not be used.

I have a back-up reservation, but again, much more expensive and not the model I requested.

Hi, I'm getting good rates with K444404 for a 10 day rental in Italy, Rome.

Has anyone used this code in Italy recently (in the last couple of months?) and verified that they do not need ID?

CDW is included in the online quote. Does anyone know the excess for using this code? Am thinking of buying coverage from http://www.insurance4carhire.com/ to cover the excess and want to be sure its enough. I understand that even buying Super CDW does not cover acts of vandalism or windscreen damage to the car, but http://www.insurance4carhire.com/ should cover that?

Any input valued! Thanks!!

Kabuki Dream Boy May 3, 2009 4:36 pm

thanks for posting the k444 code as the one I have always used for italy(a153700) does not seem to give a good discount now? I have noticed that car hire prices have shot up though as I used to pay £250 for 2 weeks for a focus wagon and now it's £440 with the k444 code and £633 with no code so still a decent saving but expensive compared to what it used to be.

BobbySteel May 7, 2009 6:12 am

I was hassled once in Munich airport over this code. Apparently the desk frau decided that I needed a Chairman card (NetJets or Avis Chairman's, I couldn't tell since they're both called Chairman). After arguing, I realized that using my company AWD was 8 euro more, so I just gave up. I think she was confused over the Chairman terminology.

James Bond 007 May 10, 2009 10:24 pm

I'm going to make a reservation with this and give it a go. It'll be at a downtown location as the code didn't waive airport location surcharge and that essentially wipes out the difference. If they give me any problems, I'll ask them to change it to the AAdvantage code which is still pretty decent.

Hi all, so I took the risk and used the K444404 code along with my AVIS Preferred Services card in Austria in May/Jun 2009 and had no trouble whatsoever. :D Given how small this airport location is, the AVIS Preferred Services card did not save me much time, but I was pleased to know that I was not questioned (or chastised) for using this code. My next rental in Europe will be in Munich and I will try to do it with my AVIS Preferred Service card which means I should get to skip the counter and go straight to my car. I'll have a back up reservation with Sixt or Hertz just in case!;)

fredz85 Jun 30, 2009 12:58 am

I will be using this code soon in Italy. Anyone else have reports of problems using it, or should I just go for it?

mrEzE Jul 7, 2009 7:44 am

How did the usage in italy go? This code saves almost $100 on a one month rental in Belgium and I was thinking of using it.

mrEzE Jul 9, 2009 5:58 am

Bump to see if anyone has used this lately. I'd like to use for a month rental in Antwerp. Best rate I could find by about $100.

mrEzE Jul 24, 2009 6:35 am

One more bump. Going to pick up the care tomorrow reserved under K444404 and wondering if anyone has had any recent experience.

ctownflyer Jul 24, 2009 12:05 pm

It's worked fine for me, but I'm a CHM.

mrEzE Jul 28, 2009 10:24 am

Thanks for the update.

I picked up the car. Avis.com wouldn't give me the lowest rate when I was logged into my account using this code, so I created the reservation w/o account information (weird, but there was about a $75 difference). Turns out there wasn't a preferred desk anyways, and no questions were asked about the AWD when I picked up the car.

Kabuki Dream Boy Jul 28, 2009 12:56 pm

Just used this code at Naples airport(Italy) for a rental from 8th-22nd July. No questions asked and unlimited mileage. Was lucky to be given a brand new Ford Focus estate with 9km on the clock:)

neos Jul 31, 2009 1:24 pm

Beware using it at ZRH!

My mother has also had problems using the Netjets code at ZRH. The manager told her that only an Avis employee code could give her such a good deal!
When I book a car for her nowadays, I find B149870 gets the second-best rate and she's never been hassled using it. Still, it's a shame to have that great code go unused! :D

Would anyone know how one could "prove" the code isn't an employee code. Is there some sort of Netjets literature she could bring to airport with her?

Folks, I've got an upcoming reservation with K444404 in ZRH in summer 2010. Saving a couple hundred bucks...

Can you all provide any updates on successes/failures of this code?

Thank you!

I was failed only yesterday afternoon.
Although I'm very friendly with the branch manager, he said that if he gives it to me, he'll receive a phone call the next day from the head office about it.

That's bad news :(. ELAL, where was this? at ZRH?

So, it seems that ZRH is the only location that gives problems with this code?

I know many people used the code all the time without problem

tinkin Mar 7, 2010 6:39 pm

Busted!

I got busted in Turks and Caicos. It worked last year, but this year they said NO WAY! They said they had a list of people allowed to use this AWD and I was NOT on it. So I got charged full rate for the seven days I was there. Oh well, I made out last year so I guess it all evens out. Managers are aware of this code, and not letting people use it. What can I use now??? Looks like the party might be over.

It sounds like you accepted defeat too readily and happily paid way too much. You had a reservation at a certain price and should have demanded written proof from them that you could not use that code. What right do they have to refuse your reservation unless they can present something to you that indicates why you aren't eligible for the rate. Next they will be able to refuse any discount code by just saying that they won't honor your reservation in order to make you pay full rate.

This is BS and a clear example of why you should always have a backup res at another company. Nothing feels worse than being at their mercy and nothing feels better than telling them to shove their car up their as$ and walking out when they try to screw you.

Proof of eligibility is on the user of the code, not the rental agency, and second, a back-up reservation isn't needed when you use VALID codes that your are ELIGIBLE for.

ajnaro May 4, 2010 8:23 pm

K444404 seems not to work in Chile or Ecuador. At time of reservation it provides a good discount, but the reservation appears at the rental counter with no price at all. Even with a print out in hand, the K444404 rate was not accepted, although other discounts were offered on the spot. [Just a hint: in Chile, Alamo is very reasonable; in Ecuador, most hotels have cars with drivers that are far cheaper and more convenient than a rental car]

USirritated May 5, 2010 2:33 pm

I just spoke with someone very high up in Avis, and officially, K444404 has been red flagged for anyone who uses it. If the rental locations miss that AWD at time of rental, then both the renting location AND the renting customer, no matter what the customer's status is, will get a call from Avis Corporate security and may be pursued for fraud.

The reason for the red flagging is that this code has been used and abused by people who do not have the right to use it, and it is no longer an active AWD number for rentals. It is now only for Chairman's Club qualifications, and she went on to say that this number has been posted too many times in FlyerTalk, and this contributed to the abuse.

So now the mystery is cleared up, so a word to the wise......
