Problems with avis website?
I get at far as the last page "make reservation" and then I get "Avis.com has not properly responded to your request". I've tried multiple times on 2 different browsers (Safari and Firefox) this morning. Has anyone sucessfully made a reservation this morning?
TIA Jennifer |

I'm a Mac user and made a reservation on Avis today (and previously) with no problems. (I was using Firefox v. 2.0.0.1) It was likely just a temporary problem... |
No, having tried multiple combinations of computers and browsers I have come to the conclusion that the problem relates to the discount code I was using (which I have used for several years). It would be helpful if it would simply say the code was invalid but noooo.
Thanks anyway |

Thanks anyway that code might also have specific restrictions, including location, coupons, and as I read from your post in another forum, car class. |
As you saw it was car class. Actually, I have another (unpublished) code which I have also used in the past that was directed specifically to me: that wouldn't work either and nowhere in the accompanying documentation was there an indication that this code was not valid with a sub-compact vehicle. I don't think it's unreasonable that an invalid or expired code should produce a an intelligible message, rather that one that directed me to hit the back button and re-submit. How about "Code Invalid"? That would work for me. ;)
