Lifemiles Expiration
 

My miles were supposed to expire on April 30th.

The Lifemiles website says: " The expiration of miles that was scheduled between April 1st and December 31st, 2020 has been paused. This means that if the members´ miles were scheduled to expire within the indicated months, they will remain in the members' accounts until December 31st, 2020. Now, if you accrue miles during this year, the validity period would always extend for one full year."

But my account still shows an expiration date of April 30, 2020 with a warning that the miles will expire in 7 days.

I believed that their call center is closed, so I can't get hold of anyone. I already sent them an email.

Suggestions?

Donate 100 miles to charity, just to be safe

Does that count to extend the validity? I think the validity gets extended only when you acquire more miles, not when you use them.

Isn't Avianca also extending miles validity due to COVID-19 - or not??

Any update on the Life Miles expiration? I see July 31 as expiry date for my miles and will transfer 1000 from Amex if required.

Got answer to my own question. As someone mentioned in another thread, my miles were extended to 2021.

I tried a donation about a month ago and it does not seem to extend the validity of miles any longer. It definitely used to work in the past, but so far my miles expiry hasn't been extended beyond the 31 Jan 2021 granted by LM. Will wait till Jan next year and in a worst case buy 1,000 mls if need be or so.

correct me if I am wrong. I thought now only earning will extend validility.

Probably, miles Donation worked in the past as I did it at least twice. Thought I give it a try as folks weren't sure if still working or not. Seems definitely dead and aligned with the updates from LM. So only earning or buying will work these days. I'll just buy 1k mls or so in Jan 2021 if needed. Fingers crossed LM stays in business and such, else it won't matter much.

Why is it not? it is only 12 months now.

it is Jan in Spanish....

Expiry of my miles has been extended to August(Ago) 2021. It seems the recently refunded miles extend expiry of my miles.
