Many thanks.

Regent Taipei has a pretty decent lounge and is just across the street from the Double Tree. The nightly rate (without lounge access) should be just a bit higher than the Doubletree (which is honestly is much nicer than most DTs). Other than Regent, I can't think of any as there aren't many high-end hotels near Taipei Station to begin with.

Sheraton Grand? That's not too far. The lounge there is decent though not much of a view.

Courtyard

I stay @ The Courtyard:

Admittedly, it works best for those of us who have Elite status with Marriott.

I would second the Sheraton Grand. When you throw in breakfast, evening reception, and laundry allowance (at least some rates come with one), plus a place to sit and work or book conference rooms if you need one, booking on the Executive Floor often isn't a bad deal. Easy walk or one subway stop to Taipei Main Station. One downside is that there aren't a lot of restaurants super close but give it a ~15min walk and there's plenty.

I didn't know Sheraton Grand has a lounge, otherwise I would recommend it over Regent. It might be controversial, but I think Sheraton's food is much better than Regent's. Also IIRC its room rates are much more reasonable these days.

Mellow Fields Hotel in the Zhongshan neighborhood is a good option for those looking for reasonably priced but practical lodging in Taipei. It provides a comfortable stay without the high-end price tag, with an excellent breakfast buffet and close access to sights like the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai Shek house, and Shi Lin night market. Its position also affords easy access to eateries, retail centers, hiking trails, and green spaces, making it a great option for budget-conscious Taipei exploration.

I stayed there late March, 2023 for 3 nights and would agree with the above comments. Price was good value. Good neighborhood. Not luxury hotel by any mean and a bit away from the center areas.

If you walk around the block directly behind the Sheraton, there are a number of moderately priced restaurants including noodles, Japanese, Thai and Chinese restaurants. And a 24-hour McD's.

Maybe not Ximen, but not bad.

I would argue the food options around Sheraton Taipei is vastly better than Ximending, although admittedly probably not that catered to foreign visitors and probably not that many options in late night. In addition, Sheraton Grand itself has some of the best hotel restaurants in town.

Regardless, many touristy areas can be reached within 5-10 minutes on the subway anyway.

Taipei Taiwan Hotels after cruise stay 3 nights and then head to international airpor

It will be my first time in Taipei, Taiwan after a cruise disembarkation Dec 22, 2024.
I am 73 solo female, cant walk too much hip problems, therefore I am researching for assistance with Flyer talk members to help me find an appropriate mid budget hotels ( 100 to 120) for 3-4 nights. A hotel after stay can go to the airport.
Somewhere near shopping centers for shopping and find authentic food.
Also if there is a driver to take me around sightseeing.
Your assistance will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
Liz
