TPE / Taipei Transit Process
Hi All,
I'm transitting through TPE in March next year (LHR-BKK-TPE-BNE) I've only got a 1 hour 15 minute connection at TPE which seemed pretty tight to me, what is the connection process like at TPE, will this connection time be sufficient? Thanks in advance for any replies. |
Plenty of time. You just re-clear security which is fast and efficient and go upstairs to the gate for your connecting flight. Often takes less than 5 minutes.

TW is super easy for re-clearing security
More than enough time. |
Great news, thanks for the info :)

And BR will make every effort to make sure you do not miss the connection if the inbound is late.

I have had a plane land late and had only 1 hr and 15 min to make my next flight. I easily cleared security and had time to go to the EVA lounge for a bit.

Basically you should get "Priority Customs Clearance" Plus like I said previously, TW is easy to clear customs. |
Thanks for the advice everyone, never thought I'd have time to use the lounge at TPE, can maybe fit a quick shower in in the lounge now, great news.

I don't think there's enough time to shower cause the lounge is located in the middle of the terminal which is far away (10 min) from the gates.

As this is not an airline question, but rather a destination (including airports and connection issues) it has been relocated to the proper forum for broader readership and input.

My wife is a Chinese National although I have a US passport. I understand she can transit but must stay in the transit area. What does that transit area include? We are flying EVA Air SEA-TPE then TPE-BKK on also on EVA 2.5 hours later. Will we be able to access an Eva air lounge?
|
Yes, you can. The EVA lounges are between terminals C and D and it's all Airside.
After you de-board, walk towards the transfer desk. If you already have your boarding pass, bypass it and get in the security checkpoint line. After a very cursory check, go up the escalators and you'll be in the departures area. Edit: If you can't get into the EVA lounges due to lack of invite/status, etc. On that same level is a pay lounge called "The More" which was relatively okay at roughly USD30. |
The wording from the foreign ministry describes a transit "area", lounge, and hotel as the only permitted locations but I wasn't sure if that included the entire airside terminal/gates etc?
We are *A Gold travelling on EVA Business Class so we should have pretty wide lounge access. |
