I'll agree with you there. One important thing I'd also mention to any potential visitors is that if you're taking a tuktuk around Phnom Penh, you should bring some sunglasses with you regardless of the weather because it can get really dusty and irritating.

My favorite is the National Museum. Great Khmer Art there. It is well worth a couple hours on the way to the happy hour mojitos at the FCC.

The museum is very nice though and an underrated attraction. I just wish they'd tear down the infrastructure built for Sihanouk's cremation in the park fronting the museum. |
Thanks for the advice, I'd rather take a flight and skip the bus. I'll check with Cambodia ankorair and see what tthey have, everything I saw on ITA Matrix was very expensiv, so iI'llneed to book with them ddirectly

Twice I've been disappointed with those vaunted mojitos. :o

And the FCC is definitely a place I stop every time I am in PP :)

You're right, the Sihanouk stuff will probably still be there on the 1st anniversary.

I didn't realize how cheap these flights were. One LCC (or maybe it's not an LCC? seems cheap) I wasn't aware of, would have saved me a bus ride. Oh well :o

I made a video of riding around Phnom Penh. Was my first time in the country and I loved it. So much to see and do and it's all great.

Most of the time FD DMK-PNH, PNH-DMK is around $50 (ai) for the early flights anyway. On Cambodian Angkor Air I think I paid 4700B RT to BKK (ai) a month ago or so. Certainly worth it to not have to get up for the 6:50 DMK flight.

Three questions:
1). Any recent experience with Cambodia visa? Best to get it in advance or on arrival? I'm happy to bring passport photos with me at the airport if its cheaper. 2). What would you do on a day trip to Phnom Penh? 3). What foodie experiences are recommended in Cambodia? cheers! --Russ Staying at White Mansions Boutique Hotel, the old US embassy. Can't say enough for service, rooms, location...^ Had dinner at Sugar Palm, local food recommended by hotel, $2 tuk tuk ride, food not bad, a little sweet for my taste. POV |
