EZE mini Do - potential date(s)...?
 

OK... so after some thinking, Ive come to the conclusion that we have a reasonable amount of EZE based FTers so as to get the preliminary plans for a mini Do going.

I would say we work on meeting up for dinner at some local restaurant on Thursday June 25th.

Please post here if you are interested in joining... or if another date suits you better, please post now as I will await feedback from the EZE based members before publishing this mini Do on the general boards... I would look to try to find a consensus date between those of us that are based here.

As it turns out I'm passing through EZE in later June so could attend a mini-do on 25th June, my last night before flying out the next day. Unfortunately because of travel plans no other dates really work for me. If not good luck with your July get together. :)

Arriving back on the evening of the 24th from BKK via FRA and we may stay overnight in the capital so the 25th is a possibility.

Once I get their feedback, I will go ahead and announce this on Community so that others can join if they wish.

I returned last weekend to the Golden State. I haven't planned my travel that far in advance. But I'll update everyone if I'm in town when a date has been decided.

OK.... with Kurt now chiming in, I think we have the basic number to formally announce this mini Do. I will start a thread over on Community.

OK.. just to confirm, the date for this Do is set for June 25th (Thursday).

As for the Venue... I would suggest doing Dinner at Pura Tierra. This is a great restaurant in Belgrano, and I can arrange to have the corkage fee waived for the couple of bottles of Spoof Juice I will be bringing for us to drink.

Pura Tierra specializes in modern Argentine cuisine... which basically means its a fusion of various European Culinary Influences (French, Italian, Spanish, etc.) but based around traditional Argentine ingredients. What does this boil down to.... well if you are a fan of dead cow, or fancy some fresh fish, or maybe small birds, or lamb... or rabbit...? And yes, pasta lovers will also have something on the menu to please you.

Chef and owner Martin Molteni is at the helm (and in the kitchen)... and I assure you he is a master of his trade. Prices are not inexpensive for EZE standards, but the various touches of the food and service and IMHO well worth it. Current cost estimate for a three course meal + coffee is approx. AR$120-140 per pax.

Im certainly open to suggestions if folks would like to offer alternatives.

I'm landing on LAN at AEP from COR at 1805 so should be able to get somewhere central soon after checking into the hotel I'm staying in that night, which is La Cayetana in Monserrat but should be able to get that done fairly quickly. What time do the mini-Do's usually start/end?

Im thinking to book the table for 830pm... so I would guess we would be calling it a night sometime around 1130 or midnight at the latest.

I'm happy to go along with your choice of dining establishment Gaucho100K. Being out in the "sticks" my knowledge of BsAs eating places is pretty poor to be honest.

Then the timing should work for me, of course barring anything unforseen. I'll add my name to the Community thread and look forward to meeting everyone who can make it. :)

Great idea and Pura Tierra is on my list of restaurants still to visit so would love to come but am currently in London. Will be returning to Bs As sometime mid-late June - not sure of the exact return date yet. Will definitely come along if I'm back in time.

Just a note to recommend that anyone in BA on this day should REALLY consider going to this dinner. My wife and I loved our meal at Pura Tierra a few weeks ago. I wrote about it in the EZE mini-DO thread in the community forum.
